Kneeling beside Harry's crib she knew she only had a short time left with her first and only son. This was not how life was supposed to be. They were supposed to grow old together, give harry brothers and sisters and to spoil their grandchildren rotten. That was being stolen from them. Harry started crying, Lily picked up her son and held him close. He looked so much like his father. Harry's raven hair sticking up in all the same places his fathers did everything just like his father's except he had her eyes.
'You're so loved harry mamma and daddy love you so much'
Tears began to roll down her cheeks as she heard shouting from the corridor. One voice so familiar to her, and the other made her blood run cold.
'Get out of the way only one needs to die tonight I have no desire to spill your pure blood'
'Lily I love you so much'
A red and green light flashed underneath the door and a she heard a thud. He was gone she knew this and her heart was breaking. Lily wanted to scream for her husband the pain was insufferable. She knew he was coming for her and her infant son.
Lily placed harry back into his crib and stepped away from him. The door swung open and there stood Voldemort.
'Will you do the smart thing mudblood and hand over the boy I promise you may keep your life'
Lily laughed at his offer. The loss of James left a billowing coldness deep in her soul but losing both the men in her life would shatter it. She glanced just one last time at her son. She loved him so much. Sirius would look after him and tell Harry of what his parents stood for.
Looking back to the invader she stood tall
'I am Lily Potter you snivelling piece of shit tonight you will be the one who pays the ultimate price because you don't know what love is. You murdered my husband and you want my son you will have to go through me first'
'Very well then'
Lily closed her eyes and said to herself
