Dear Draco,
My name's Hermione Granger, and it's a pleasure to be your penpal for the month. I am seventeen, and I study at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. I've always wanted to visit Hogwarts, it seems rather magnificent. My parents considered sending me there, but decided an all girl's school would better suit me. I disagree, but there's not much I can do.
So, tell me about you. Do you have any brothers or sisters? I don't. It's lonely. Luckily, I have my ginger cat Crookshanks to keep me company. What's your favourite subject at school? I love them all, but I'm especially good at charms and transfiguration.

I wish I could be as excited about you about this penpal business. It's ridiculous. What good does it do us?
Anyway, I suppose I should cooperate, but only because the old bat McGonagall is peering over my shoulder. Hogwarts isn't as great as it seems, may I start off. Dumbledore's mad and favours the Gryffindors, just because the famous Harry Potter is in that house. I suppose you've heard of him. Been the star of Hogwarts for six years now, and he's annoying. He's not anything special!
No, I don't have any siblings, thankfully. The Manor does get a little lonely, but I like having my own space anyhow. I'm best at potions. Professor Snape is a brilliant teacher, and he loves me, so that class is my favourite. I suppose you want some questions in return, so here. What is France like? I've never visited before. My parents don't like holidays. And are you pureblood, half-blood, or muggleborn? I'm pureblood, the best, of course.
