Blue was his favorite color. It was the color of the pond he went to every morning. It was the color of the sky when the clouds spread apart and the sun poured through.
It was the color of his favorite tie, given to him by House as a wedding present for his first wedding. He hadn't gotten his then wife anything because she didn't matter, what mattered was Wilson.
Blue was the color of House's eyes, often mischievous and at other times pained. Far too many times did aggravation fill those bright clear as the sky eyes, aggravation over the inability of those around him to think like him, at his own physical inabilities never disabilities, House would never claimed to be disabled unless it was a joke. Or at the very least for a free parking space.
For a short while he hated that blue, those eyes, that man had taken away his love. It was wrong that had Amber died and House lived.
In the end, it was that man and those eyes that convinced him to move back into House's apartment. It had been those eyes that had beckoned him. They called to him, called him directly into the bedroom where both men sought solace and comfort for their respective losses. For Wilson the loss of Amber, and for House the temporary loss of two things he'd held most dear for so long. His brain, which betrayed him when he needed it the most. And Wilson, who he had betrayed by not knowing the answer until it was all too late.
Wilson found he could forgive someone whose eyes widened deliciously in the throes of ecstasy, someone whose eyes showed love even though House's mouth didn't work well for him when he most needed it to.
