Scorpius's POV

Glancing around to make sure no one was watching, I stole into the dark crevice. This had become a regular routine in the past few months. I checked my watch. In five minutes, she would be here. Time ticked by, and she soon appeared, with her cousin, Albus Potter, and best friend, Maddie Longbottom. They sat in the plush chairs, and Rose pulled a piece of parchment and a quill out of her bag. The three friends huddled together and started murmuring. I had learned in these months that they were planning a party for Rose and Albus's grandmother, Molly Weasley. Maddie had agreed to help. I watched, transfixed, as Rose laughed, shaking out her hair as she did so. The sound was beautiful. Bubbly and carefree.

All too soon, the three left, one by one. Rose was last to go. She swung her bag onto her shoulder and hurried out without a backward glance. I sighed. I loved her so much, but she would never be mine. Rose Weasley would never love me, Scorpius Malfoy. It was a forbidden thought. Our fathers would kill us, not to mention that she hated me. I acted like I hated her as well, but that's all it is. An act. If only she loved me too.

Rose's POV

Scorpius Malfoy. A forbidden name. One night, the last night Albus Maddie, and I could plan Grandma's party, I couldn't stop thinking about him. My friends were giving me odd looks, and I could tell that they knew something was wrong, but they didn't question me. I loved him so much. If only he loved me too.
