Author's Note: I had the idea for this story while watching some reruns (I hate that word.) of Doctor Who, where the Doctor always seemed to get so sad at the revelation of anything that would remind him of something grim. Like the Tenth Doctor with Rose and all of the other people who had died or been lost because of him. The Eleventh Doctor also felt left out at times with Amy and Rory. Plus, I really wanted to write something with my second favourite companion, Donna and her friendship with the Doctor. It isn't romantic (which I like since I ship TenXRose), and is just a really great friendship.
This chapter has no main POV of any character, (no thoughts of an exact character), and its relatively short due to it being sort of an intro to the larger middle section chapters. This is my first story, I hope you like it, please rate and review! It helps authors out a lot!
Copyright: Doctor Who and it's characters and it's patented objects (i.e. the TARDIS, sonic screwdriver) belong to BBC and the writers of Doctor Who. I don't own anything, however, I'd appreciate it if you would not copy and paste this story and claim it as your own or without permission.
Now, on with the story!~
Chapter One; "Lotion"
The doors of the T.A.R.D.I.S. slam shut as a fiery redhead and a well-dressed, handsome Doctor walk in.
"Where to next, Don-na?" The Doctor asked, emphasizing the fiery companion's name. He put his arms up and motioned to nothing specific.
"How about... Somewhere nice and relaxing?" Donna suggested. "Like a water relaxation spa, to make up for what the dry heat did to my skin, look at it." She motioned her hand towards the Doctor. He eyed her hand suspiciously before giving into curiosity and felt it.
"Oooh." The Doctor exclaimed at the touch of Donna's dry skin. "You might want to put some lotion on that."
Donna sighed. "Like I said, spaceman, let's go to some 'alien spa resort'." Donna said with her usual sassy kick to it.
"Alright! On to..." The Doctor says, naming a planet incomprehensible to neither Donna, you, and I. He pushes some buttons, toggles some switches, and spins the spin-y thing on the T.A.R.D.I.S. control panel. He swiftly pulls out his iconic glasses and puts them on with expertise as he sets the coordinates and date for their destination.
Slowly, Donna made her way to the Doctor's side and softly says, "So... Have any of that lotion you were babbling about?"
Offended, the Doctor turned around swiftly to face Donna. "I do not 'babble'!" He exclaims. Donna raises her eyebrow in response to his faulty statement. Defeated, he whirls around back to the control panel of the T.A.R.D.I.S. He nonchalantly denies having lotion.
"No lotion, huh?" Donna says as she closes in on the Doctor. She feels his hand and shouts, "Oi! Then how are your hands so-" Donna was cut off by unexpected, violent turbulence that shakes the whole of the T.A.R.D.I.S. "What! Was! That!?" Donna screams over the groaning of the T.A.R.D.I.S. The Doctor checks various monitors and scales rapidly.
"Our course is being altered!" The Doctor shouts back.
"What did you do!?" Donna screams over an alarm. "And what is that blaring alarm for!?"
"I didn't do anything!" The Doctor shouts in response. "And I have no idea what that alarm is for!"
The panic came to an end when the T.A.R.D.I.S. landed with a huge crash, and then only silence was heard.
Anyone see what I did there? Ha. Ha. Ha. Silence... the Silence. No, mustn't think of that. I chose that specific word for a reason... Hope you liked it!
