Okay, okay, okay, okay... I haven't posted anything, in, like, FOREVER. I'm sorry! I was just really out of ideas, and I've been working on an original story on fictionpress. But, my New Year's Eve was kinda boring, so I came up with this to make up for it. Basically I added things from my evening, spiced it up, and filled it with oodles of Jam fluff. So, yeah. Hope you like it!

It's New Year's eve.

You pull on your pajamas and get comfortable on the couch, eating crab from a newspaper spread out on the coffee table in your new house. You've taken care of the hideous clown painting, but the paneling and shag carpet is still there, but you don't care. It's the Halpert house, the house you bought for her, the house she that loves. It's your first New Year's eve in your first house.

You watch old episodes of 3rd Rock from the Sun and don your party favors; plastic "Happy New Year" headbands in bright, sparkly colors. Pam's is hot pink, and yours is blue. You giggle and tease each other, and wait for the midnight hour.

You switch to the broadcast of Time's Square at the last minute and sit up on the edge of the couch, waiting eagerly. She grips your arm playfully; It's almost 2009, Jim!

You shout out the countdown with New York. 5! 4! 3! 2! 1!

She gives a whoop and claps in her adorable way. Such a dork. You can't help liking how her ring flashes as she does so.

You grin at each other, and lean in for the first kiss of '09. After a long while, and possible the fourth or fifth kiss of the year, you part, murmuring sleepy Happy New Year's to each other and switch off the TV. You cuddle up on the couch, too tired to get up and go to the bedroom.

You fall asleep in each other's arms, with a feeling that it will turn out to be a very good year.

And there you have it! Now, I may have a story coming pretty soon, but I wanna work on it really hard to make it just right (that's what she said), cause it's my first time writing something that's not completely Jam, and that is a full-out, chapter-by-chapter story. The one thing I'll tell you is that it's basically a cross-over between The Office and Storm Chasers. Should be interesting, no? ;)
