She sat there. Sat there, alone on the golden chair. She stared at the couple. The couple who danced in the center of the room.
The couple spun around the room in complete perfection. Their beauty shone throughout the room. Who couldn't be envious of this couple? This perfect couple.
It made her sick to think about it, yet she still stared. She had to stare at them. If she stared at them, she would see him.
He twirled around the room with his soul mate on his side. His deep brown eyes blazed with brightness like no other. His soft black hair fell in his face as he turned his love around. He was happy.
He was happy unlike her. She though about it for a while. She would be happy. She would be so happy, so happy if she had him. She brought her hand to her face and wiped a delicate tear from her eye. Then she saw her. Her who his angel.
The angel danced around the room with her prince. She spun around smiling and laughing. As her prince twirled her around, she yelled out "Oh! Mamo-chan!" blissfully. Her golden hair shone beautifully in the light of the room and her kind blue eyes sparkled. "Oh! Mamo-chan!" She yelled as he spun her around. "I love you!"
She wanted to scream. She wanted to cry. She wanted them to feel the pain that they were putting her though. But she just sat there in the chair staring at them. How could she hurt them? How could she hurt her best friend who had been through hell and back with her? How could she hurt her best friend's only and true love, even though she loved him too?
The couple spun around for the last time and received a round of applause from the crowd. She heard them whispered. "I'll love you forever, Mamo-chan." "I'll love you forever, Usako."
She couldn't take it anymore. She shot up off the chair and ran out the door. Snow gently fell on her as she rushed out of the ballroom. She stood for a moment, observing the gentle white flakes falling from the sky. "It's impossible." She whispered with tears in her eyes. "You can't break something eternal."
