Changing Lives
"And its Flint coming down on the left wing, Quaffle at the ready, he's at the post and he SCORES. Damn you idiot Slytherin, sorry Professor, Bad luck Wood. 170-10 to Gryffindor. Woods first miss of the match. Don't worry the best of us can sometimes make a mistake. Even with that goal, there's no way Slytherin can win now, wait, what the, he's got the Snitch. Malfoy's caught the Snitch. This is a first in Hogwarts History; the team that caught the Snitch didn't win. Final score 170-160 to Gryffindor. They've won the first game of season. We did it. Well done Potter. Cracking team!"
It was the beginning of October and that meant only one thing to the majority of Hogwarts, the start of the Quidditch season! The first match of the season was Gryffindor versus Slytherin, it was the most anticipated match of the year, everyone had been looking forward to it. No one was disappointed; it made history. Though it was nothing compared to the after party. It was a normal rowdy affair until midnight. All of the fifth years and under were shipped off to bed and the party really began. There was Firewhisky being tossed around left, right and centre. People were tripping over, giggling madly and making out with nearest person of the opposite sex (sometimes at the same time). Everywhere people were singing badly out of tune renditions of Odo the hero and a few other wizarding pub songs. Many people were ignoring all of this madness, choosing simply to stare open mouthed at the two people snogging on the sofas by the fire. Lily Evans and James Potter, Head Boy and Head Girl and self-proclaimed enemies (well Lily-proclaimed anyway). As the kissing got more heated many turned away out of embarrassment, though some (Sirius) cheered and wolf whistled. They stayed locked in an embrace until someone shouted in a rather slurred voice
"Get a room!" They pulled apart with grin and both motioned for the stairs. Still grinning stupidly, James swept Lily into his arms and walked briskly to the stairs in a very respectful straight line considering the many bottles of Firewhisky he had consumed. As the pair made their way up the stairs, only a stunned silence could be heard from the common room. No one could believe their eyes.
