Prologue

They were fighting, but Regina didn't remember about what. It was going from bad to worse, until Regina opened her hands and let the flames escape from her fingers. The flames turned from orange to blue in half a second and started dripping out of her hands in an unstoppable speed, making its way into the room. Looking like it has a life on its own the small strokes of fire turned into big heads of flames, crashing into everything that was within its reach. Regina's hands were tensed, enabling her from stopping the fire from pouring out. The heat didn't hurt her hands, but the fire stroke alongside her legs and feet, and she could already smell her clothing burning. A second later she felt how pain urged along her legs, making them tremble.

When her mind started to work, Regina kicked Emma in her gut and threw her backwards on the marble. The kick made both her legs collapse, and she fell to the ground on her knees, her hands heating the marble underneath them. Bent forward the warmth stroke her face and made her feel nothing but fear.

Emma hit her head on the floor, rolling further backwards, almost into the flames that rose up behind her. Regina emitted a little scream. She didn't meant to hit her that hard, she just wanted Emma to be less close to her and to be out of direct danger.

A mysterious wind started to rush into the room, fuelling the flames and lighten up the blue around them even higher and louder, demanding it's attention. Smoke started filling the room, thick and black it packed together in clouds at the ceiling. Regina's coat and hair swept around her, hitting her hard while lost blue strokes swirled around her body.

Regina's hands tightly stretched, enabling her to make fists and to stop the fire. 'Get out of here!' She screamed with a cracking voice. This was getting out of hand. They only made a fight and said some harsh things probably, but Regina didn't meant to let out the flames, let alone hellfire.

The packed smoke was getting thicker and thicker and started to descent in the room. The darkness took over, though the blue hellfire still lighted with all its unstoppable force. 'Emma!' Regina screamed again. Emma had to go, Regina couldn't stop with what she was doing. Emma had to understand that she needed to leave Regina behind, there was no other way.

'Regina, stop it!' Emma screamed back, desperate. Regina could only see a vague red and blond through the smoke, flames and tears. Regina wanted to tell Emma that she couldn't stop it and that this fire had its own will, that it couldn't be controlled. She wanted to scream to Emma that she had to leave the house - leave her for Gods sake - but when she opened her mouth, the smoke rippled inside her mouth and lungs with incredible speed. It pushed out all of the air, making her breathless. She fell down on the ground, chocking.

Pain ripped through her arms, tearing her apart and making the tears start to fall of her face. She screamed one last time, with all the breath she had left. Slowly and quick at the same time unconsciousness took over, and Regina let behind the ravage she created entering a silent place.
