A/N: Hi! Well, some of you asked for it, some didn't, but this is the sequel to Playing Doctor. I'm starting a new series on how Kari's arrival affected the Digidestined, and I've already gotten TK's POV written.
Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon, yet, but the deal is going through as you read.
Joe checked his watch. Almost time.
2:08
2:09
2:10
YES!
"Mrs. Sato? It's 2:10" Joe said.
Mrs. Sato sighed, Right on time, she thought.
"Fine Joe, go on," she said.
Joe ran out of the class and went straight to room 20D.
At the same time Joe had been staring at the clock, Mrs. Yamada's second grade class was cleaning up for math. Which, by the way, Mimi absolutely hated. She was glad her mother had not only put her in tutoring, but had gotten her the BEST tutor also. At exactly 2:10:17, a navy haired boy ran through the door.
Mrs. Yamada looked up at the clock, and sighed. This boy was prompt.
"Mimi," she said but the girl was already packed, and standing beside him.
Mrs. Yamada blinked. She never moves this fast for handwriting class, she thought. Mimi linked arms with Joe and walked out.
The walk to room Tut.14B was very quiet (talking in the halls meant Saturday School!!!), but as soon as they got in the soundproof tutoring room, Mimi let out a squeal so loud it would have been heard in China otherwise. She hugged Joe's waist tightly. A) She didn't get to see him that often ever since their families moved in fear of the terrorist bombings and B) he was so tall she barely reached his waist!
"Joe! Joe! Joe! Joe! Joe! Joe! Joe! Joe! Joe! Joe!"
This went on for quite some time until Joe clamped her mouth shut.
"It's time to learn multiplication Mimi."
Mimi sulked. She hated multiplicasion, or however you spelled it, and he knew it.
So while he droned on about the importance of multiplication in a 2nd grader's life, Mimi walked around the room on her tiptoes, while balancing a pencil on her nose.
Joe looked up at her and sighed.
"I'll give you a bunch of kisses."
Well, that did it. Mimi sat down and listened to every word every word Joe said for the entire fifty minutes of tutoring time. As soon as the bell rang Mimi sighed and said,
"I dun wanna leave Joe!"
Joe looked astonished.
"Mimi," he said, "you don't want to leave school?!?!"
Mimi giggled, "No silly-billy-Joe!!! I dun wanna leave YOU!"
She clung to his leg, which had became a habit of hers when he wouldn't give her what she wanted, or when she wanted him to stay with her (like now).
"I'll give you your kisses now."
Mimi jumped off his leg. Grinning, Joe gave her an unopened bag of Hershey's Kisses. Her eyes grew large and she ripped open the bag, and devoured the chocolate. Joe took her hand and led her to the car out front waiting for her. Joe walked home, as his parents made sure to find a home near the school. When he got home, he went straight to his room, turned the page on his calendar to March, and like he'd been doing for the past seven months, marked every Monday(like today) as "Mimi Monday".
A/N2: Ok, I used to do this when I tutored. It was always "Turner Thursdays". So I used the idea as something that Joe would do.
