Author's Notes: As you can tell, I haven't been in the mood to 'write' in a quite awhile. At first, I used 'business' as an excuse, before I realized it's just my impatience of writing as fast as my brain can think. Does that ever happen to you? When you know exactly what to write, but your mind just stops working whenever you sit down and begin? That happens to me ALL the time. I know what I'm going to write, but I can never get it on paper! Okay, done with my rambling...I hope you enjoy!

P.S. When I began writing this, I tried stopping at exactly one page. I did, and it has an exact total of 392 words! Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are a little OOC though :/

Disclaimer: I don't own Transformers in any way.

Brothers

Sideswipe stared at Sunstreaker for what felt like the longest time ever. He knew that his brother was beginning to feel uncomfortable, yet he never stopped his musing.

"Why do people think we're so different?"

Sunstreaker looked up from his waxing with a "Is this what you've been thinking about?" look on his face, before shrugging nonchalantly, "People are stupid."

Sideswipe ignored him and continued to speculate to himself, "They treat us as if we're opposites. You're darkness and I'm light. But that's not right…"

Sunstreaker snorted, "No, they're exactly right.

The red twin looked confused, "I thought you said they were stupid."

His twin shrugged again, "People can be stupid and right sometimes."

Sideswipe nodded his helm before coming to another conclusion, "They say we spend every waking moment together. Why should we be different then?"

"They just want something to tell us apart."

"Oh…" Sideswipe looked down for a second, "But I don't want to be different," he said in a small voice.

Sunstreaker looked up from his waxing and sighed, motioning for his twin to come closer. As Sideswipe did, he made his way towards their shared berth (they never did sleep well alone) and sat closely together. Sideswipe sighed at the contact and rested his helm contently at his other's shoulder plates.

"We don't have to be different," Sunstreaker said soothingly.

Sideswipe smiled. This was the Sunstreaker he knew; The Sunstreaker who was kind and comforting whenever they were alone. He knew the "bark and bite" routine was something he put up to keep other's away; keep others away from hurting them. He knew how much this face killed his brother.

"But if we're not different, then someone will have to be Sunstreaker and the other would have to be Sideswipe. We'll be different then."

Sunstreaker looked frustrated for a moment before his face lit up with an idea.

"The one who isn't Sunstreaker will be Sideswipe and the one who isn't Sideswipe will be Sunstreaker."

Sideswipe seemed satisfied with that answer until another problem popped into his mind, "But then who will be 'light' and who will be 'dark.'"

Sunstreaker smiled and pulled Sideswipe closer, "Does it matter? Whenever there is light, there must be darkness. I'll be whatever you don't want to be as long as you're with me."

Sideswipe smiled, "Why don't we just be 'brothers?'"

Author's Notes: This takes place when the twins are younger, when they rely on each other at all times. I hope you enjoy...even if there wasn't any real point in this. Go check out the other story I uploaded today (He Wasn't)! It's looking a little lonely with zero reviews so far...

I really want to know what your opinion on this drabble is. It's different than the way I normally write. So...please review!
