I recommend the edited version: You and Me Both [Rerelease]

One.

The slow and delicate process of painting nails distracted Lena Yavari as the lengthy trainride to Hogwarts bored the girl to death. Of course, her compartment was full. Next to her was Pansy Parkinson. Crabbe and Goyle sat across from each other, Goyle next to Pansy. Next to Crabbe was Blaise Zabini.

And across from Lena was the one, and the only, Draco Malfoy.

Frustrated with her nails, Lena charmed them black, with green serpents on them. The sun was setting and the girl watched it apathetically. Draco was emerged in a new book that they had gotten for that year. She could only make out, "grade five," on it.

The last four years of attending Hogwarts had been pure bliss. Though, rather lonely, she must admit. The light in the compartment, compared to the now darkness outside, created a mirror affect in the window.

The girl's blonde hair lay straight on her shoulders, just reaching her chest. Her head tilted, and her eyes gleamed green. High cheekbones, and a slender frame, Lena was doubtlessly beautiful. Her eyes dropped and she looked across from her at Draco.

He looked up and met her eyes. He smiled and his eyes glinted in the light. She smiled back, but her smile didn't reach her eyes. She faked it for a second longer and took the book from Draco playfully. The chapter he was on was defensive spells. The boy jumped up and snatched it back from Lena.

The girl rose slowly and pounced on Draco, taking the precautions of making sure her nails didn't scratch him.

A minute later, the girl was lying on the floor breathlessly on top of Draco, claiming victory.

Though, a voice in the back of her mind assured her that he had let her win. She gave the boy a fiery kiss on the neck and bit in gently.

"Get up, you two," Pansy said, her voice leaked jealousy, "We're almost at Hogwarts."

Lena short the other girl a glare and brushed herself off. Draco's pale cheeks were cherry red and she could still hear his uneven breath. He was now securing a badge with the letter P on it.

"Gotta get to my Prefect duties," he boasted.

Lena rolled her eyes and punched her best friend. He clutched his arm defensively. "Stop bullying the first years; you embarrass me."

Draco smirked and walked out of the compartment with his trunk floating behind him. The trunk smacked a first-year, who immediately collapsed. Lena waved her wand and the boy was revived. She was following behind Draco, dragging her trunk.

"Lena's mine," Draco growled at Zabini. Catching her name, the girl looked a ways down the table.

Her selective hearing picked out the conversation she wanted to hear among the many at the feast.

"You're not dating her, Malfoy; don't claim her."

"She. Is. Mine."

There was a sudden explosion and Zabini shot back from the table, slamming into the Ravenclaw boy that was at the table behind him. Draco went on eating his food without any notice of this, while the rest of the hall had gone stark quiet to look at what the commotion was.

Lena blushed and Dumbledore made some last minute announcements before the students went back to their corridors. The girl rushed off to her dormitory while the rest of the House was chatting in the halls outside of the basement.

Millicent Bulstrode walked into the dormitory and sat on the bed that was next to Lena. The rest of the girls filed in for bed, getting their beauty sleep for the next day, which was their first day of classes.

Suddenly Millicent kneeled next to her bed half an hour later. "Draco wanted me to give you this." The other girl handed Lena a note.

"Thanks," Lena muttered. Lena shifted and put the blanket over her head. She took out her wand from her robe pocket and in her head commanded the wand to ignite. It did and she read the note carefully.

Lena,

Meet me outside the kitchens at one.

Draco

The girl checked the time, and found she had five minutes to spare. She rolled out of the bed and out of the dormitory. Very few were left awake, surrounding the fire and telling stories of their summers. Lena crept out of the common room and practically ran to the kitchen.

She enjoyed the sound of her high heels clicking on the rock floor. Just a little away from the kitchens, the girl straightened her skirt and pulled herself together, as well as her cloak around her.

Sweeping around the corner, Draco was waiting coolly against the wall. He looked up at her and nodded.

Lena nodded back.

"Come for a walk with me?" the boy asked in his usual drawl.

She nodded again and followed him out of the castle.

"I missed you," he said as soon as they left the castle.

"Missed me from what? We talked all summer." Lena stuck her tongue out to tease him and Draco moved forward. He lightly grabbed her arms. Lena backed away and moved one of her hands up to her hair, which she grabbed thoughtlessly and awkwardly.

"You're my best friend," she cried under her breath. He couldn't hear her.

"C'mon," he began, "I want to show you something."

The boy pulled her arm that he was still holding until they were walking at a steady pace towards the forest. The silence surrounded them and suffocated Lena. "Draco..." She said when they reached the forest.

He kept pulling her when she began to fight back. She eventually caved and kept following.

"Just a little farther," he muttered.

And suddenly they were in a clearing.

"Draco," she said breathlessly. "I-it's beautiful..."

She could hear his breathing.

And she could hear his pulse.

And she felt him pulling her closer.

And she felt his lips pressed against hers.

And, suddenly, she was numb and silence erupted.
