Chapter 1
At 6 the alarm goes off upstairs and Luke wakes up rolls over and hits it to off so it doesn't wake Lorelai and gets up and out of bed and throws a teeshirt pajama pants and socks on
Lorelai starts to wake up she opens her eyes ''hi what are you doing up what time is it''? she asks and rubs her eyes and looks at her watch
''shh it's only 6 go back to sleep I'm gonna go downstairs and open the diner and start up the grills'' he says
''no gotta get up Rory's gonna be here soon'' she says and gets up wrapped in a sheet and starts looking for Luke's blue button down flannel shirt
Luke goes downstairs and unlocks the door and turns 1 single light on and starts some coffee and the stoves and grills
The door opens and the bells jingle and Rory walks in
''Rory Hi'' he says
''Hi Luke where's mom?'' she asks
''upstairs getting dressed she'll be down in a minute take a seat I'll get you some coffee'' he says
''ok thanks'' she says
Lorelai comes downstair's ''Hi Hun good morning'' she says and smiles and pours both Rory and her some coffee in coffee cups
Rory just looks at her awkwardly
Lorelai starts coming over to the table with the cups in her hands ''what?'' Lorelai asks her
''what are you wearing?'' Rory asks her
''Luke's shirt do you like it?'' Lorelai asks her
''and no pants?'' Rory asks her
''yea well I couldn't find any this was all about I could find within reaching distance of the bed'' she says and kisses Rory's head and sets some coffee down infront of Rory then sits across from her at the table
''so your flashing the whole town this morning my last morning in Stars Hollow?'' Rory ask's her
''it's like 6am no one is awake yet and there's no one around plus I shaved my legs last night so there's nothing for you to be worried about so will you just relax why don't you?'' Lorelai tell's her
''ok fine Luke can you please hurry up with breakfast my cab is going to be here at 6:45'' Rory tell's him
''you got it'' Luke says
''so you're leaving me at 6:45 huh kid what time's your flight?'' Lorelai asks her
''8'' Rory says
''you'll call me when you get in right?'' Lorelai question's her
''I already told you I would'' Rory tell's her
''good good I'm going to miss you so much write me constantly'' Lorelai tell's her
''I will do that'' Rory says
Luke comes over to refill thier coffee cups ''so big day are you nervous?'' he he asks Rory
''no not really kind of excited ut nervous at the same time'' she says and smiles
''good your going to do great'' Luke tell's her
''oh thanks'' Rory says
Lorelai just smiles
At 6:45 Rory's cab gets to the diner and honks
''well that's my ride Luke do you have a to go box?'' Rory ask's him
''oh yea sure'' he says and goes behind the counter to get it and comes back and hands it to Rory
Rory scrapes what's left on her plate into the box and closes it ''ok so this is it I love you guys'' she says and gives them each a hug and kiss and grabs her to go box and her suit case and starts walking to the door and opens it
Luke puts his arm around Lorelai ''good Luck Rory'' he says
''thanks'' Rory says
''bye hun'' Lorelai says
''bye mom'' she says and quickly gets her stuff into the trunk of the cab and gets in and it pulls away
Luke and Lorelai watch
''so that's it huh?'' Luke asks her
''yea that's it she's offically not a kid anymore'' Lorelai says
''listen it's still early so why don't you go back up to bed and call Sookie and tell her you won't be in today and just sleep in today and I will bring you some lunch around noon time'' he tell's her
''ok that sound's good'' she says and kisses him with her hands on his cheeks and walks back into the diner and goes back upstairs to bed
Luke just watches her go and shuts the door and waits for the diner to get it's early morning breakfast crowd
