Complaint Letter to Steven Moffat (and Gatiss, but mostly Moffat) About Sherlock Season 3
Dear Moffat,
I really hate John's mustache in season three. It's atrocious. I don't know who convinced you to give him one, but clearly they didn't think their request through nearly enough. The mustache messes up his face. It's a great subject of controversy in the Sherlock fandom. You either hate it or you love it, and I am not loving it. I'm sure Sherlock isn't either. I know he will hate it and use it to insult John. Some people may really like it, and I know Watson had a moustache in the book, but it isn't a good look, really.
And don't get me started on Mary Morstern. I hate her, too, and not because of her personality. She could be the nicest person ever and it still wouldn't hold any ground with me. She is taking John away from Sherlock. I don't even ship Johnlock and I think that. That has to tell you something. Sherlock needs John, Mary doesn't. Maybe I'll accept her as his girlfriend, but married? No way. Please, Moffat, don't do this to me. I don't care what the book says, screw Mary. My sister's even writing a fanfic about Mary dying. It is wonderful. John's sad, but I'm like YES. Wow, that sounded really morbid. Sorry, but still screw Mary.
Sherlock's red scarf. Yeah, red is nice, but some of us are sentimental and like the blue one. I don't know, it's not the biggest change but it will annoy me. And what's this about Sherlock getting a love life? Intriguing, but it needs the right girl. Choose wisely.
Sincerely,
Bree Cardiff, Extreme Sherlockian and Loki fangirl
