AUTHORS NOTE: Hi, this is my first Obidala poem. I'm usually a very good poet, but this poem focused more on expression than getting the words perfect in the scheme. Hope you enjoy! Please read and review:D thanks
The Last Innocent Man
lola
write
hand
Her screams were heard,
A passing thought, a swished cape of tan,
And he appeared at her side,
The last innocent man.
Her eyes boiled over,
With warm, glistening tears,
Of a grown up bystander,
With childish fears.
She grasped his hand tightly,
Shut her eyes in pain,
There was so much lost,
And so little to gain,
Years of a hardened heart he possessed,
A zealous passion for the goal,
No love he had, no heart caressed,
Nothing to ever show his soul.
But at this moment, all was force,
Her life swayed to and fro,
Of treacherous wars, and broken chords,
And her chance to live so low.
She is so healthy, said the nurse,
But dying, she is now,
As if by curse, hades hearse,
Is foaming at her brow.
Work fast, we must, to save the twins,
She quickly leaves this world,
All her sins, like used hairpins,
Are falling from dark curls.
A rush of passion filled his mind,
And he gasped, hand to his mouth,
Living a lie, a tear pricked his eye,
For memories struck clear, no doubt.
He remembered 9 months, 9 months ago,
He remembered the skies and the moon,
He remembered so, to not let her go,
He remembered that night on Naboo.
Where all his anger burst forth as love,
And all his feelings renew,
Feelings of, youth, from above,
He remembered that night on
And that figure he saw, behind the glass,
He had kissed long ago,
Firm and Steadfast, such a beautiful lass,
Who loved him, even so.
She had cried to him that one day of her fears,
"Annie controls me each day,"
Evil he appears, she said through her tears,
I will die in such power one day."
He grows stronger, so stronger, does he,
And he envies my love for delay.
But you are the key, for I cannot love thee,
So, by the force, I obey."
He could not believe it, Anakin's own pride,
Dark side to grasp him so soon,
So, he rushed to her side, and by forbidden love abide,
On this clear night on Naboo.
He taught her a word, in a language unknown,
Once foreign to her as a queen,
On her lips singered, a kiss still lingered,
"Leia means love beyond dream."
Now, he stood, nearest to the fallen one,
Her face dampened, her mouth gaped in pain,
As if he had just run, A gasp from someone,
Caused her to remember again.
"It's a boy," he said softly, holding him near,
"Luke," she whispered with care.
Hoping to hear, she drew ever so near,
And in his blue eyes she stared.
One last cry, she howled and spurled,
To nearly pass out the while,
"It's a girl," said her lover, gave her the world,
"Leia," she said with sad smile.
Leia to love, so shaded and sheered,
Yet so bright and undimmed,
When overheered, no force interfered,
And her hands, round his neck rimmed.
A tear fell from his tender fair face,
outside, rain began to fall,
"I am glad to surphase, my love and my case,
to have never lov-ed at all."
