"Shion!" he yelled as he rushed to his side.
Nezumi wasn't one to get scared. He had discarded that emotion a long time ago when he was imprisoned. As the only survivor of the Forest people, he was the only alive clue to Elyurias. He had seen his village burn up in glames, he had seen his family and friends die and he had seen the people of No.6 kill them. He had only been a child when all these happened and swore to himself revege for everything he had lost. For that cause, fear wasn't needed. That being said, he had a sense of danger and was not reckless.
"Shion! Are you ok?" Panic run through his words.
But not anymore. The 'Nezumi' who held a grudge was there but the 'Nezumi who only cared about himself wasn't because he wasn't alone anymore. He had someone who was above his own principles, above any tricks, above himself even though he would never consciously admit it unless it was life or death situation.
"Shion, wake up! You can't go! You can't leave me alone!" Tears stroke his face as he was shaking him.
That person was the one who saved him in a literal and metaphorical way. He hid him and thus showed the kindness people could still have. So that person became someone he wanted to protect and repay the debt one day. But when that day came, he didn't imagine how every action of his would affect him. Caring for him meant risking anything he believed in just to keep hi msafe and pure.
"Shion..." his broken voice resounded in the nothingness with his sobs. He laid his head on his lifeless chest defeated.
He had placed his everything on that person without knowing it. As long he was there, there was a solution. As long he was there, he could fight against anyone. But the realisation of his evolving feelings was slow, too slow and too late.
That person was now gone and Nezumi was left bereft. His purpose of revenge didn't matter anymore. Even though he made fun of his dreams, he had encouraged him to keep them and in accordance, he himself had subconsciously, reluctantly believed in them.
"Shion..." his breathing had fallen into a slower, calmer rythm. He was clutching at his shirt.
Now that he was gone, he didn't know what to do. The plan had come to an end, his revenge had come to an end too and his most important person wasn't there. His dreams were coming alive and he couldn't see them. His thoughts trailed back to their moments together. Good or bad, he felt happy and finally he knew what he wanted, what he HAD to do.
"Shion..." his voice got lower and lower. He raised his head and with a sad smile looked at him and started gleaming.
He loved him. Whether it was rommantically or friendly, he knew love had no such boundaries. He was his hope and without his hope, living meant nothing to him. Therefore, he would give another meaning to his life.
"Goodbye" he whispered and his lips touched slightly his as he started dissolving into golden dust.
Love had no boundaries, he kept thinking to himself as he disappeared.
Shion's eyes opened with a single tear falling from his eye as soon as he opened them.
"I love you too."
Don't ask me how he did it! He was a Forest guy! Elyurias gave him the power or something :3
