A/N: Kyoko – AU. Takes place in an alternate dimension after Kyoko dies with Sayaka. The POV switches here and there
I
I was dreaming...someone was crying. She was all alone in the dark...tears falling like rain from her cerulean eyes...
"Why are you crying?" I asked, sitting next to her, biting into a fresh apple.
"Because I am all alone..." she replied, looking at me as sticky apple juice ran down my chin. I wiped it away with the back of my mint colored hoodie.
"It's okay to be sad but...you aren't alone, right? You have to have some friends...And if not...I'll be your friend," I grinned, offering an apple to her. She looked at me, taking it in hand and then...I woke up.
All alone. Kyoko woke alone in her bed, shivering softly as a cool autumn breeze fluttered her curtains. A tear slid down her cheek, she wiped it away with her fingers. Looking at the water on her finger, she wondered why the dream had made her sad...just who was that girl. Why did she seem so familiar. Why did it hurt so bad to know that the sapphire-eyed girl was hurting. Kyoko clutched her chest, causing wrinkles to form in her mint green nightgown.
"Kyoko? Aren't you awake yet?" her father called from the downstairs.
"Just a minute!" she yelled, turning in bed so her feet hit the hardwood floor. A chill ran up her spine as the coldness seeped into her toes. She sighed, turning to close the window and pull the curtains closed. She stripped her nightgown off, letting it fall to the floor. She quickly pulled on a black tank top, cut off denim shorts, and a mint green hoodie to shield her from the autumn air. She took the stairs two at a time, stumbling into the kitchen where her dad stood, in an apron, cooking lunch.
"Did I sleep that late?" the redhead asked, pulling her long hair into a ponytail.
"You were out like a light. Mom went to the store," he snatched the cookie from his daughter's hand, "No snacking before lunch, Kyoko."
She groaned in response, flopping down in the hard wood chair, crossing her legs under the table. She rested her cheek on the palm of her hand, sighing.
"I had a strange dream...there was this girl...she was all alone...and I feel like I know her but...she was crying...and I want to be her friend...but it's just a dream, right?" she asked, her vermillion eyes meeting the hazel orbs of her father's. He sat a plate in front of her before setting his on the table and sitting.
"Maybe the lord wants you to help the girl? I'm sure if you trust in Him he will lead you to the lost lamb. Now say grace before you eat." Her dad swatted her hand as it reached for the juicy burger on her plate. She sighed, folding her pale hands together, praying silently(or so it appeared to her very religious father) before scarfing down her lunch.
She pulled her ipod from her hoodie pocket and crammed the earbuds in her ears. "Going for a job," she muttered before heading out into the autumnal scene, determined to decipher her dream.
