Love like you
Summary: A one-shot request by Nanoko857. A short story of Ran and Shinichi.

It was a normal day with a same old routine. As usual, Conan, finished his dinner, went to bathe and sleep early. On the other hand, Kogoro had gotten drunk and slept in the living room. Ran cleared up the beer cans with a frustrated look, washed the plates and went downstairs to the office.
Ran sat down on the sofa of the office. Shinichi was supposed to attend the event that day, and she had get her hopes up to seeing him again. She waited with that glimmer of hope. She stared at the present in her hand, walked towards the window and threw it on the sofa.
Ran gazed at the stars and got lost in her thoughts. What if Shinichi got caught up in a gun fight? What if he had fallen for another girl? She shook her head and tried to shake these thoughts out of her head. She assuring herself that everything would be fine, but to no avail. "Why didn't you come back?" Her eyes wandered in the city lights. "Where are you?"
She never knew that he was leaning on the wall outside the offices, holding back the urge to out his truth identity. Gomen ne Ran. He slide down and sat on the floor. Don't trust me.I lied about coming back soon.

I once said that I could not deduce the heart of whom one loves. I am dense in love. But for you, Ran, I can learn how to love. Just for you.

It hurts him deeply to see Ran weeping while foolishly thinking that Shinichi was somewhere far, far away when he was right there next to her all along. He went back to his room to fetch him bowtie and called Ran. As expected, she complained and cried on the phone, while he tried to calm her down and made another fake promise. They chat about various topics, both of them not willing to end the phone call.
After the phone call, footsteps and the sound of the door creaking open could be heard. Conan peek out of his room to see a smiling Ran walking back to her room.
However, how long could this situation last?

I like this song! It was placed in my collection of songfics because the song is too short. When I went to check up of song meanings, they said the song is about a gem and human love. Um…I could make a love story between Kaito and Pandora with this…
