"Sing," I tighten my grasp upon Katniss. It's all I want to hear. I first see confusion cross Katniss's face. Then, I can hear her sing. I can tell she's choked up and it's difficult for her. Her voice is prettier than any other persons I have heard. A sense of peace fills me as the lyrics pour from her mouth. My pain is still there, but I can feel life slipping away.
Here is the place where I love you.
My eyes flutter shut. I can feel my breathing slow. I slit my eyes briefly to see tears pouring down her cheeks. Life is slipping away even faster.
As the final verses fill my ears I know my own finale is nearing. The pain is fading. So is Katniss's beautiful voice. Within this final moment some regrets come to me. But, I am grateful. Grateful I am able to hear Katniss's beautiful voice. My life is ending. Yet, I still can hear my favorite thing. Music, one of my greatest joys in life.
With one last sigh, I feel my soul released. My pain has ceased. I'm free from the pain. Free from the capitols oppressive hold.
Most of all, I'm free from the games.
