Starlight

" You see that star over there?" Sasuke asked as he pointed to the brightest star in the murky sky one night. The both of us were lying on the soft pasture surrounding the peak.

My hand slowly played with a small dandelion, its petals gilding against my fingertips. I snapped the stem and held it above my eye, examining it. I breathe out and the tiny seeds flew away, following the direction of the wind . Lovely. After somewhat seems like hours, I then only placed the lovely dandelion on Sasuke's chest as I positioned my head above his heart, hearing his sturdy heartbeat. It took me awhile to remember he still expected for an answer. "Yeah." I said. Why couldn't he just shut up and just cuddle up with me, I didn't need him to talk to me, I needed him close to me. And as if he knew what I thought, he placed a small kiss on my forehead. This couldn't get any better I thought.

He smiled. " That's gonna be our star."

" Why?" I asked out of curiosity.

He took a deep breath and brushed some loose strands of hair away from my face. " That's because it's beautiful. Just like you, Sakura." He said it as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.

A smile crept across my face; I loved it when he says my name, Sakura. Despite the fact everyone calls me by that name too, it was very different with Sasuke.

We both kept quiet after that, just how I wanted it to be. I closed my eyes, letting myself be overwhelmed by the rhythm of Sasuke's heartbeat. " Don't leave." I whispered softly, clandestinely hoping he'd be able to hear me.

Sasuke's fingers came and drum his fingers over my head before sliding it down to my chin. He placed a little pressure on it as he elevated my head upwards; his black orbs staring right down into mine.

" I won't, Sakura. I won't."

He let go and I resumed to hearing his heartbeat. Not more than 5 minutes has passed, and my body felt its energy deliberately drain away. I yawned and snuggled closer to him. " Night Sasuke."

He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair before answering. " Night."

And as my world slowly felt like Never Land, I could just barely hear Sasuke say,

"Love you."
