Rin cocked her ears, hugging her knees to her chest as she stared out the windscreen. "Miku, what's this song called again?"

"Um, this?" Miku glanced at the dial, which was set on her favourite radio station. "Hey, Soul Sister. It's been pretty popular lately."

The shorter girl squinted as they turned the corner, the sun glinting off the side-view mirrors and bouncing into her eyes. "I don't like it," she announced abruptly.

"What? Come on, it's a good song!" Miku pouted, flashing the look – the one she wore every time Rin balked at the blind dates she'd brought for the two of them. "I love it! It's so upbeat and happy. How could you not like it?"

Rin gave her the look – the one she always wore when she saw the types of guys Miku brought with her on those damn blind dates she never seemed to remember agreeing to in the first place. "I hate the tune, the lyrics suck, the guy's got a really weird voice –"

"Well we're listening to it. And I guarantee you will like it by the end of this car trip." Miku grinned, braking at a red light.

"– and the instruments totally don't go together –" she continued, ignoring her.

The teal-haired girl sighed, turning the volume up until Rin's loud complaints could hardly be heard.

. . . . . . . . . . . .

"Hey, soul sister, ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo, the way you move ain't fair, you know…" Len hummed absently, a casual arm slung around Rin's shoulders.

"Oh…my God. Are you fracking serious." She yanked his headphones off, glaring at him. "Stop listening to that song. I hate that song."

He returned the annoyed look. "Well, I like it. And it's a free country. So there." The blond boy pulled the headphones back on very pointedly as he continued mumbling the lyrics, unable to hear her hissed swearing over the music blaring in his ears.

"People have got to stop trying to drown me out with it," grumbled Rin.

. . . . . . . . . . . .

"…your sweet moonbeam…the smell of you in every single dream I dream…"

"Gah!" Rin sat up violently, tearing her earphones out and flinging her iPod on the floor with a frustrated clatter. "Stop stalking me, you stupid song!"

. . . . . . . . . . . .

"Luka. Please don't tell me you like it. Please." Rin peeped through her scraggly fringe, watching the other girl critically.

She opened her mouth, seemed to think better of it, and closed it again. "…Maybe you should try Gakupo," Luka finally suggested.

There was an audible thump as the younger girl let her head hit the table.

. . . . . . . . . . . .

"You know what would be hilarious?" Len commented, resting his chin on Rin's shoulder.

"If you grew another eye and discovered that you were secretly a purple Wobble monster?"

He clicked his tongue in annoyance. "No. If you actually started to like the song because you heard it so much."

She looked at him. And swatted his glasses off. "That will never happen," she announced, putting them on and allowing him to nuzzle into her neck, his knowing chuckle warming her skin.

. . . . . . . . . . . .

"I'm so obsessed..." Rin murmured as she turned the page to her book. "My heart is bound to beat right out my untrimmed chest..."

She froze.

"Oh, fuck."

. . . . . . . . . . . .

A.N. Okay, that was weird. And pointless. And by the way, I love that song. :D
