Queen of the Birds

Prologue
Raven watched in fear as she saw her party die off one by one in the room, which had them trapped with an empty treasure chest and a door sealed shut with vines so impossibly thick, it would probably take a strong sword just to cut them down.
She had leapt on top of the chest, using the height advantage to hold off the monsters, which were too strong for her. As the claws of the monsters dragged her down, Raven couldn't hold back her tears of despair over the thought of her teammates, her death at such a young age, the things she had wanted to do in real life, and her dreams that would never come true.
"God, if you are there, please, for once, let me have a happy dream…." Raven thought as one of the clawed monsters pulled her hair back, exposing her neck for the killing blow as her chest heaved in sobs.
Suddenly, the sound of something snapping reached her ears, and she felt the pressure on her head lighten as a guy cloaked in black ran in, cutting down the monsters easily.
"You there! Get out before you get hurt!" He shouted, as Raven took hint and fled, her tears flowing as she abandoned the very place her friends had died in.
"But, I already am…." Raven thought as she ran towards the exit, realizing that her friends were dead, to not be able to wake up in the real world and be back with their family again, like they dreamt.
Wiping her tears as she came to a stop outside the dungeon, Raven stilled herself as she pulled herself together.
"You guys will live on in me… And I promise…. I'll clear all the floors!"
