A/N: Hi guys! I haven't updated in FOREVER, but here's a new story, and I hope it goes well. Also, I recommend visiting the TARDIS wiki page on Skaro before reading further. That's what I did.

Earth Year: 460 AD

"Mom! Mom! I need you!" I looked up from my brother to call her name.

"What Aly- Oh gods!" she had seen my brother. Her blonde hair was stuck to her face as a tear dripped down her face. "Aly, get away from your brother."

"But mum!"

"I said NOW!" I slowly backed away from my brother, who was twisting around and groaning. Mumbling to herself, she turned around and reached for the Call-Screen.

"Mum no you can't!" I yelled, and grabbed a fistful of her shirt. She whipped around and separated me and her shirt.

"It's for our people, Aly. Your brother is a-a-a Muto now." Shivering a bit, she turned back around and pushed some numbers on the Call-Screen.

I looked at my brother Chakir, who was still writhing on the floor. Something wet dripped down my face and I realized I was crying. But I didn't stop there. I sobbed, ugly-cried even. What had my family down to deserve this? Chakir, even? We were good people, respecting the gods, giving donations, my mum constantly having kids for the Thals.

Our chime rang, and I knew who it was. The Purists, a government group who got the Mutos out. My mum's hair shining in the light, she marched up to the door all odd and stiff. "Hello, officers. My son is in here." She smiled weakly.

The officers dipped their heads. "We're terribly sorry to hear about this Ma'am. It's a tragedy to everyone when some mutates."

She nodded. "Yes, well, let's get down to business. My son Chakir is 7 nanoyears old. (A/N: A nanoyear is about 2 months, so Chakir would be about 14 years old.) He was outside when that radiation bomb hit about a microweek ago. (A/N: A microweek is about 4 days) We never noticed any side effects until today."

The man with a skinny body thought. "Did you do the Radiation test?"

My mother shook her head. "No, my husband did. But he didn't say anything." That got me thinking. My father was a government official. He did anything and everything for his country. But would that apply to his family?

After my dad came home, Mum, Dad, the Purists, Chakir, and I went in a Radiation vehicle, where Chakir was separated from us in a glass cage. We could still hear his wails of agony though. "Mum, Dad! How could you betray me like this? I never did anything to you!"

That thick glass cage divided us from the Purists. I eavesdropped on my mother and father's conversation. "Jadyk! Why would you do this?" said my father in a hushed voice'

"I'm doing what's right, Tuljakni! Our son has mutated!" came her reply.

"I told you, we were off the list! Now because of your mess-up, we are on it!" He was getting angrier.

"Off what list, Tuljakni? The government's?" she was also annoyed.

"Off the list? Your mess-up?" what did that mean?

I was determined to find out.
