Chapter One Pranks just got deadly

As Nepeta worked on her plans, she hummed. This was going to be her best prank yet. She planned for hours until she got it right.

Nepeta dashed down the stairs to make sure that Karkat and Sollux were still in the dining room eating. They were when she peeked around the corner. She chuckled softly to herself. Taking another chance, she looked around the corner again.

"Karkat is red. Sollux isn't blue. You can't see me, but I'm watching you." Her voice rang out loud and clear in the silence it startled everyone in the house at the time.

It happened to be very dark and scary that night. She dared another look. Sollux had looked up at Karkat.

"Was that you, Sol?" Karkat asked Sollux who had stopped eating.

"No, KK. It wasn't me. I think that it was Nepeta." Sollux looks accusingly at the door way were Nepeta had just been.

As soon as Nepeta heard her name she dashed out of there. Quiet as a cat.

It was time for her to set the trap for Kar-kitty and Pawlux. They would totally fall for it. She finally reached her room to set up the trap.

Down in the dining room, Karkat had Sollux check out eh hallway where Nepeta had just been.

"No, she isn't here-"his sentence was cut off by a high pitched scream that cut through the silence of the old Troll Manor.

The sound caused both the boys to freeze in their tracks. There was only one troll that could make that sound in the entire house, and that was Nepeta.

"NEPETA!" they yelled together. They raced up the stairs taking two at a time to the girl's room.

Nepeta stood frozen in the middle of the room. There in the middle of her bed was Equius. Only it wasn't him, this Equius was dead. His body lay in the middle of Nepeta's bed leaving a big pool of blue blood on the blankets. His face was frozen in terror. She had only gone downstairs for a minute and when she got back, there he was in the middle of her bed. He hadn't been there when she had left her room.

Karkat and Sollux came up behind her and saw the 'gift' left on her bed. Karkat knew that he had to get Nepeta out of there. He rapped his arm around her waist and gently tugged her down the hall.

Sollux had decided to clean up the mess while Karkat worked on calming Nepeta down.
