Ship's Boy Lament

(Benjy's death, seen through Jacky's eyes)

When someone leaves,

why does it have to hurt.

Sure, I seen a lot of things,

But nothing hurts more,

Then the loss of a friend.

This is Ship's Boy Lament.

Last time I saw you,

You were ready for your first fight,

You never thought it would be your last.

Still can't believe you're gone.

But to remember you,

I thought I'd write you a song.

Tears I've dried,

All for you.

But slowly they die down.

And only come back to my eyes,

When I think of you.

Time to say good bye.

But the time has come to soon.

Ends are quick,

And ties are severed.

You're gone now,

But I've locked you up in my heart,

So I can never forget you.

This is one of the first songs I wrote for the Bloody Jack books, so if it sucks, just say it. I tried to get it right, even though it doesn't rhyme at all. R&R!

Yours,

Fel
