I sat at my desk, worried, sad, and scared. I was becoming someone not me- someone who hated the war, hated this life of pain and hiding and secrets. I was listening to music, and I'm glad we don't have a mission right now, because I would be useless, caught up in my thoughts.

A tapping came from the window. I didn't notice for about 30 seconds, then jumped up and went to the window. A boy was down below, throwing rocks up.

"What the- Who the hell are you?" I whispered down. He looked somewhat familiar- he was pretty well-built, with dirty blonde hair and a nice face.

"You know who I am! You have a picture of me!" he whispered back.

I gasped. "Tobias? Oh my God, is that you? Come on up. That tree, right there- climb up that one." I pointed to a tree that led right to my other window. Now I was wondering what Tobias was doing here. In human morph, no less.

He climbed in the window. "Dammit," he said as he hit his head on the window. He rubbed it as he hopped in.

"Why are you here? Why are you human? What the heck is going on here?" I said. I was worried.

He kept rubbing his head where he hit it. "Nice welcome," he said.

I blushed a little bit. "Did something happen? If you could answer, it's be great."

He sighed. "I know what's up, Rach. Everyone noticed. You've been less enthusiastic. You barely talk. We're not that stupid. And, well… I keep thinking it's my fault. I'm stuck as a stupid hawk. You never get to see me. You don't smile any more. None of us have seen you smile since- since I can't remember when. I feel really guilty, so I decided to come and surprise you. I could be human. I morphed outside, so we have about 2 hours."

I sat on my bed, stroking the comforter. "Don't be guilty. You can't help it. I love you, hawk as you are."

He came and sat beside me. "Rachel," he said. He lifted my chin with his soft skin, so I was looking at him. "I love you."

We stared into each other's eyes for almost a minute. His fingers brushed mine. I looked down, and took his hand. He leaned slowly… soooo slowly… towards me. I took in his human appearance, sweet, dirty blonde hair, sweet, cute, brown eyes. The tan skin, pale, but tan.

As he inched towards me, I closed my eyes. His soft, pink lips touched mine. He pulled away slowly.

"I missed you," I whispered. In response, he leaned forwards again.

In a flash, it became much more than anything I've ever done. Before this, well, a single kiss was more than I'd ever done. We became all hands, tenderly stroking skin, running through each other's hair, and he ran his tongue along my bottom lip for permission for entry. I gave it.

We ended up laying on the bed, side by side, facing each other. "You feeling better?" Tobias said, gently stroking hair away from my face.

"Mm-hmm," I said, kissing him again. Right then, we both realized Taylor Swift's Our Song was on. "I guess this is our song," I said.

"I guess so. I love you, Rachel." He whispered.

"I love you too."

He jumped up. "Oh my God," he said. "I have to go."

"Okay. Come back soon," I said. He began to morph.

(I'll be back,) he said.

As he flew off, I watched him on the horizon.

And I smiled.
