He gets a personal message from Gossip Girl, ever the drama lover. Blair just went into the Empire, looking like her normal self. Except she should be with Dan, on their way to the airport. Dan believes he's a smart guy. He can take a hint. He's not bad with context clues, either. So if Blair's at the Empire, it could only mean one thing: he's out of the picture. Right? Right.
And so he takes a cab. To JFK, he says. Oh you're that author guy, the driver says,I'll take an autograph.
I'm sorry? Yeah he's totally smart.
A cab ride for an autograph, my daughter loves you.
Oh lucky day.

She gets a message from Gossip Girl. She's this close to ignoring it. She doesn't. Dan's at the airport. Flight is delayed, xoxo.
First thought:Convenient.Second:He's leaving without me?
—-
She spots him at the waiting area, smacks him and tries to push him of his seat.
What the — Blair? Well, someone's shocked.
You're going to leave without saying goodbye? You're actually going to leave me? Why would you do that? What possible reason could you have?
Déjà vu. He sighs and holds her gaze. Her eyes show hurt more than anger. I'm smart, he tells himself, it shouldn't bother me.
… I love you, Blair. I saw that you were at the Empire. I just - I want you to be happy. And if it's Chuck who's going to give you that, then I have to let you go.
She laughs. Not that mean, shrill laugh she often uses when she's trying to piss him off. It's the laugh she uses when she finds him endearing. He raises his eyebrows at her. Well this really isn't funny, is it?
Humphrey! Are your brain cells dying? I admit my timing was bad but I went there to say goodbye. I told you I was coming with you, didn't I? I love you.
His jaw drops slightly, not sure if he heard right.
Yeah. Rome. Right —-
She's smiling. Maybe he heard her perfectly fine. His brain probably isn't working.
So Dan… Take me there?
