She closed her eyes; a sinking feeling drew her to floor.
It burnt in her mind, searing her, reliving it.

He'd changed.
They both had.
It had only been a week.
Eight and a half days to be exact.
{"Carter?" "Kiss me."}
Eight days since they ended.
{"What are you doing?" "Shhh."}

{".... Are you okay?" She nodded stiffly.}
The tension.
Except the death of sexual tension had brought about something else.
Something, which even they didn't expect.
Possession.
Trying to ignore the burning in her skin, the fire that needed to know where he was, what
he was doing, and the primal reaction to find out whom he was with.
Male or female.
It didn't matter in the least.
It still encased her.
And she couldn't stop it from eating her all.
She'd become her own worst nightmare. Frenzied and lust driven. So had he.
Her eyes flickered in the dim light, adjusting to the changing slither of light around the
doorframe.
The silhouette entered.
Her lips, tongue, teeth and hands sought his immediately.
"Where...um.... were you?" She let the jumbled question escape her lips.
"Other places."
They both tried to ignore the jealous frustration in her voice.
"Fine."
They were going to hurt each other.
Because that's all that they were to each other.
Objects of a desire so tainted, so ornate and fragile.
That it would be broken. And in turn, could shatter them both in an instant.
