The 57th Hunger Games: District 1 Reapings
Platinum Denegee's POV District 1, Age 15:
I wake up with a start. My sister is attacking me, knife in hand. Jesus, this is not a good situation, especially on reaping day. "You lied to me Platinum!" she bursts. Uh, oh what did I do know. Nothing, she's hallucinating again. I try my best to get her to get off of my bed, without hurting her, and scream for my dad. Her name is Sparkle, but her name should be Deadly. She is 13 years old, and should be in the psych ward, but she escaped, again. "I hate to do this bro," she says as she raises her knife. Then, my dad is there, putting her in a headlock, and disarming her of her knife. He won the 43rd hunger games, and has been mentoring the tributes for a while, so he knows how to do this, and has been doing this for the past 13 years. "Thanks Dad," I sigh. He takes care of her, while I get my reaping clothes on: a blue tux and white dress pants. Ughh, I hate it when my mom buys my clothes. I go down stairs, to where my sister is being (harshly) escorted into the ambulance. I eat my breakfast, and get out to the reapings,
Sparkle Denegee's POV District 1, Age 15:
I creep into my brother's room. I can't believe he told me he wouldn't let them take me, and he led them to me! I hate his guts. I take a nice dagger, and walk into his room. I stand on his bead and raise the knife. Crap, he woke up. I scream at him, and curse at him. "Sparkle, get off of me! What are you doing here? You should be in 1 lodge! Dad! Sparkle is here, help! This isn't good, I raise the knife to finish him off quickly, and then dad is there, knocks my dagger away, and puts me in a headlock. It kills. I then am escorted to an ambulance, and sent not back to my psych ward, to the reapings.
Platinum Denegee's POV District 1, Age 15:
I get into the 15's section, and glance over at my sister, with an evil look in her eyes. She's actually really tough, but I hate to admit it. Then, District 1's escort, Snowflake Kenntro in there. I know my name isn't the norm, but Snowflake's is just… weird. She's a freak. She reads the Treaty of Treason, and the reason we have these games. She says "Girls first!" and reaches into the bowl filled with names. She picks, straight from the top, and clears her throat. "Okay, our female tribute… Sparkle Denegee!" Crap. I stare at her, as she walks up onto the stage, ferociously attacking the Peacekeepers. Then she reaches into the boys bowl, and reads: "Platinum Denegee!" Well, I've been training all my life for this, but I don't want to kill me sister. I walk up to the stage, and shake Sparkle's hand. When I shake it, she murmurs "When we get to the arena, you're my first kill". Well, that's final, I'm going to die soon, and honestly, I'm not ready.
Sparkle Denegee's POV District 1, Age 15:
Everything at the reaping is clear. I know what's going to happen. I'm going to kill someone. To be precise, many people. I hear my name, and then Platinum's, and then whisper a final comment to him in district 1, "When we get to the arena, you're my first kill".
