This was another request from my good friend Shan 0 123. Here you go :D

Rio couldn't help feeling depressed as she walked through Echo Village. Today was Valentine's day, the day you spend with the one person who is more important to you than yourself. Any other day and the farmer would be happy. If Soseki didn't break up with her about two weeks before the fourteenth. He had told her that she was too young for him and that they didn't have any chance of being together in the future. She thought she had gotten over him, but seeing the other couples being lovey dovey hurt. She tried to block out Charles's happy voice and turned her head away from seeing Rod holding a box of chocolates.

She was so lost in thought that she didn't notice where she was going and bumped into someone. She stumbled and heard the sound of something hitting the ground softly.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry."

"It's fine, Rio," the farmer looked up to see Tina. She was crouched down to pick up the letters that she dropped. Rio could see that some of them had red hearts all over them. It was a bit too sickeningly sweet.

"Let me help you."

"Alright. Thank you then."

Rio helped her and stopped at a particular letter. It had Allen's name written on it in big red letters. It had childish handwriting on it. She showed it to Tina with an eyebrow raised, "I'm assuming that this is Hina's handwriting?"

The journalist chuckled, "Yep. She makes him a letter each year. It's so cute, I swear. Did you ever have a childhood crush?"

"I didn't even like talking to boys," Rio shook her head, "I think my first crush was at thirteen."

"I remember mine," Tina sighed, "I never did confess to him. Such a shame."

Rio nodded. When she saw Rod and Felicity holding hands on their way to the restaurant, it made her want to vomit. She could feel her heart sink in depression. Everyone in town looked happy but her. Even Soseki had moved on, hanging out near the general store with Iroha. The blacksmith blushed at something the older man said.

"Rio, you alright?" Tina's voice made her jump.

"I'm fine."

"Are you sure? You look so unhappy."

"I do?" her nose felt runny. She didn't notice the tears in her eyes.

"Come with me." Tina grabbed her arm and walked towards her house, trying to block Rio's ex from the farmer's view. Rio wiped her face with her free arm and followed her best friend. Once they got into Tina's living room, the brunette made her sit on the couch.

"What are you planning?"

"Since neither of us have valentines this year, we can spend it hanging out. A girl's day out if you will." Tina cooked up desserts for the both of them, "Who needs boy when you have friends."

"What about all your work?"

"I can deliver those later. I have all day. Now choose a movie."

"This one," Rio chose a comedy and moved over so Tina could sit on the couch. The journalist talked throughout the whole movie, but it didn't bother Rio at all. Especially with the chocolates that they ate. Before she knew it, they had been hanging out for about five hours. She barely even noticed the clock.

"It's getting pretty late," the farmer got to her feet, "I feel so much better after talking to you. Thank you Tina."

"That's what friends are for. If neither of us have a boyfriend next year, we should totally hang out like this again."

"Agreed." She honestly couldn't wait until next year.
