Yay! My first story! It's a oneshot based on the song Green Eyes by Coldplay, I just had the idea while listening to this song. Sorry for any grammar errors, and I hope you enjoy!

He stared at the ocean and at how it's waves seemed a nice shade of green today. Everything was green - the sand, the dock, the sky - everywhere he looked, he could only see green. Green like her eyes.

The green eyes, yeah the spotlight shines upon you

He could still make the outline of the ship at the horizon, bringing him away. Away and leaving broken hearts. And those broken hearts broke his too.

And how could anybody deny you ?

He finally got up and made his way to the Goddess Spring. He knew she would be there, and he needed to be there, for her. Even if he didn't mean the same thing to her that she meant to him, he could at least be there, to help her, to support her.

Why couldn't she notice it, the way he looked at her, at her green eyes ?

I came here with a load, and it feels so much lighter now I met you

She was staring at the pond, her eyes still red and puffy, but she wasn't crying anymore. After all, she was Karen, the proud and stubborn Karen. But she was his proud and stubborn Karen.

Her head turned to him, and she tried to fake a small smile. I'm fine. But her green eyes showed it, she wasn't fine.

And honey you should know, that I could never go on without you

"…are you okay ? " he said, sitting beside her.

"Yeah… I'm fine" she assured him, rubbing her eyes. "He doesn't deserve me anyway. H-He can leave forever for all I care."

He put his hand softly above hers. "You're right, he doesn't deserve you… doesn't deserve your tears or your sadness. C'mon, don't stay like this, ok ?"

"I'm sorry Rick… it'll pass, I promise you. It's just that… the cut is still fresh, it will take some time to heal, b- but it will get better"

"I know, I believe in you. And I-I just wanted to tell you…"

And I came here to talk, I think you should know

He cleared his throat. "I wanted you to know that… I'll be here for you, no matter what, I will be here to support you. You can always count with me."

The green eyes, you're the one that I wanted to find

She smiled, this time a real smile. "I know Rick, thank you so much. I shouldn't be bothering you with my problems, complaining about my love life. I'm really sorry, but I don't know what I would do without you to help me."

He also smiled, and looked away shyly. "It's nothing, really, Karen… it's just that I care a lot for you, I can't stand seeing you sad, it just crushes me, I-I can't stand it."

Now it was her turn to blush and look away, and she started playing absently with a small flower. "Thank you so much… I just wished that he would care for me like this also."

And anyone who tried to deny you, must be out of their mind

The last part came out as a whisper, and Rick felt his blood boil at hearing her talk about him, the purple-bandanna boy that left her like this, broken-hearted. That played with her feelings, made her fall for him, and then left, telling her it was nothing more than a summer fling. And now she was here, crying in his arms.

Because I came here with a load, and it feels so much lighter since I met you

"Sshh, don't worry, Karen, everything will be fine. I'll take care of you, I promise." He said, caressing her hair. She looked up at him with teary eyes. "I know I already said this, Rick, b-but thank you. Thank you so much." She then left a small kiss on his cheek, and after some time, she was asleep, taken by tiredness.

"I know you don't love me like I do… but I'll wait, I promise. I'll wait forever for you."

Honey you should know, that I could never go on without you

He smiled.
