Fate is an Interesting Thing

The warm autumn sun beating down on her, the gentle breeze sending the loose strands of hair haphazardly around her heart shaped face, the water fountain behind her rhythmically splashing the water. Not one of these distractions could deter her sight and focus from the copy of Pride and Prejudice sat in her hand.

That was the case until a shadow appeared over her looming as if waiting for something, not speaking. Diverting her attention from the inked page she lifted her head, her chocolate brown eyes meeting steel grey.

Seeing who it was she gave a bright smile, which in turn caused the new comers eyes to twinkle with what looked to be mischief, as a smirk found its way onto the owners face.

"I wondered where you had got to" the male voice that went along with the grey irises spoke as he lowered his body to that he was sat next to her on the grass.

"I was just thinking" she replied looking into the distance,

"About?" he probed gently.

"Us." Was her immediate reply still not facing him, and thus she missed the unceremonious dropping open of his mouth.

Swallowing the lump that formed in his throat, "Us" he repeated. When she nodded her head he was silent for a few minutes before he finally said, "Are you regretting us?" he queried looking intently at the side of her head. Half of him wanted her to reply, the other half feared her reponse. He wasn't usually the type to be confused, or wanting to make sure everything was fine, but she was different she had changed him, and she was unlike any of the others, he strived to make sure she was happy.

"No Draco" she clarified after a few moments.

"Good" he shakily replied, "Because I don't"

"But I fear" she finally relented, "I fear what people will say, how they will react to the prospect of us. I fear how this will all turn out in the end, but most of all I fear how this all happened. How the lines between enemy and friend became so blurred we ended up together."

"Fate is a interesting thing" he replied diplomatically. "Everything that has happened in the past, has brought us to the now, fate planned for this to happen."

"When did you become so wise?" she questioned with a smile.

"When you started to rub off on me Hermione, my little lioness" he whispered into her ear as he adjusted himself so that she sat between his knees, and his arms were securely fastened around her neck.

"Did fate also plan for me to fall in love with you, oh wise one?" she whispered seductively.

He stopped drawing the circle patterns he had been doing on her arm, and pulled her back so that he could look in her eyes. "Fate planned it all, including me falling for you" he smiled a rare genuine smile. Before he carefully placed his lips atop of hers.

Fate is all to do with your choices, you usually have two or more choices, these answer to these choices shape who we become, and how our lives pan out. So don't let others make the choices for you and don't always pick the easiest option, you may miss out something important, that has even more potential.

A/N: Right a short drabble of sorts, something I have never done before this was wrote today while sat waiting for my mum. A bit of inspiration that started by me describing where I was. I hope you like it, and please leave a review.
