Kimberly Ann
It
was in the bright sun,
In a town called Middleton
That a girl
lived there who everyone knew,
By the name of Kimberly Ann;
And
this girl lived with but one dream
Than to love and be loved by
me.
I
was a child and she was a child,
In this town called
Middleton;
But we loved with a love that was more than love-
Me
and Kimberly Ann;
With a love that the angels of heaven
wished
for her and me.
And
this was how that, not long ago,
In this called Middleton,
An
ill wind blew into our lives, chilling
My beautiful Kimberly
Ann;
So that the angels came weeping
And bore her away,
To
the heaven she deserved
over this town called Middleton.
The
villains we fought and the families we loved,
envied her and
me-
What was the reason
(that all asked, In this town called
Middleton)
Why the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling
and killing my Kimberly Ann.
But
our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who laughed
at us-
Of the many that cheered us-
And neither the villains we
fought,
Nor the friends who supported us,
Can ever separate my
soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Kimberly Ann.
For
the suns never shines without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful
Kimberly Ann;
The moon may never rise but I feel the bright green
eyes
Of the beautiful Kimberly Ann;
And so, all the night, I
lie down by the side
Of my darling, my love, my life and my
bride,
For her spirit lies with me, each night one by one
In
this town called Middleton.

Hello, this is the Captain. A friend and I were chatting over the PM system about the last few of my stories. He wondered if I had been reading a little Edgar Allen Poe. Well, that gave me an idea. Along with a suggestion from him too. Thus is borne this little piece. Those who have ever read much of Poe's works will recognize Annabelle Lee. I have a couple ideas up my sleeve on other of Poe's works.
