Chuck stood there, watching as Blair Waldorf broke down into uncontrollable tears and her mascara streaked down her immaculately done-up face. She was unaware of his presence, and just snuggled into her duvet, sobbing and sighing dramatically. He was unable to move, but even if he could he didn't know what he should do; this was the girl he had broken countless times and caused unnecessary pain, just because he was scared. He felt like a coward, constantly running away because he couldn't face it, and leaving behind the few who cared about him. He turned around, preparing to leave - it was better not to be there for her and not to raise her expectations, because he knew he would eventually shatter her again. He always messed up, no matter how hard he tried to make things right. He accidently nudged her side table, and knocked something over. Turning around to consider the damage, he saw the Erickson Beamon necklace tumbling onto the floor and spilling out of the box. It was a constant reminder that, as much as he wanted to walk away with his heart intact, Chuck had given it away, and now it lay clumsily strewn on the soft white rug. Fortunately for him, Blair was too caught up in her own tears to hear the noise, and he looked at the girl he was in love with one more time, deciding that it was best to leave now, while there were still pieces of her heart to mend, and he swore never to drag her down again.

Blair sat on her bed, buried under her soft white duvet, wishing that she could just find a way to make everything end. She had lost Nate, Serena was too busy with Dan, and now she wasn't even good enough for Chuck, the one person who had always been there for her. She looked in the mirror, and saw a vulnerable young girl, with tears pouring down her face and destroying her makeup. The perfect foundation she had so meticulously applied earlier that day was ruined and fading away, just like the mask she had put up for everyone around her. Her phone buzzed.

Spotted: C's limo being loaded with suitcases – and lots of them. And the best bit – all of this is happening outside B's house. Where are you going C? And more importantly, are you going alone? We haven't seen B since her breakdown earlier...

You know you love me, xoxo

Gossip Girl

Blair got up immediately, and saw the black limo outside her house, surrounded by several huge suitcases. She stared momentarily, before anger rose up inside her. That Motherchucker was leaving her. And by the looks of the numerous suitcases, he was going to be gone a while. She rushed into the lift, as fast as she could in her 12inch Jimmy Choos, and ran out of the building, panting as it was possibly the most physical exercise she had got all week. She slowed down for a minute – she didn't want that Basshole to think she ran outside for him - and confidently walked towards the limo, but only in time to see it drive away from her, into the night. She looked around, but all she could see was darkness and strangers. She had never felt more alone in her life.
