Author's note: This is just a really short sort of prologue for the story, as I wanted to get writing but still haven't figured out many of the details yet. Longer chapters will be poster soon.


The main castle's stone walls soared high into the darkened night sky. Turrets, which sported banners which snapped in the brisk night breeze. She stopped at the edge of the platform, looking down for the millionth time at the letter which had changed her entire world in elegant cursive. She reached up to finger the pendant which hung at the base of her throat.

It had had been her mothers but she was gone now and the loss hit her every day. But when she saw castle which was illuminated in the dark by hundreds of lights from which she could not find the source, she almost felt at home.
