A/N: How could I now write something about this week's episode? It was so heartbreakingly beautiful. Sorry if it's kinda depressing, but this was a pretty depressing episode in general. If you like it, please review. Thanks.
In the early days of their relationship, he gave her a flower. And she fell in love. When she planned on escaping, he gave her another. And she chose to stay. Now she is trapped among the wreckage, forced to remain here, and there is no place she would rather be.
There are no flowers, no sweet gestures for him to show his love for her. But she knows anyway, he can see it in her eyes.
She sacrifices herself, telling him to leave, and he realizes again how much she loves him. He refuses to leave, promising to stay by her side forever, and she knows how lucky she is. In their final moments, their impending doom is also their salvation.
It's bittersweet, she thinks, how much her heart is bursting with love for the man in front of her. Almost as if her body itself knows they don't have much time left to be together.
He sees her eyes fill with tears, longs to hold her tight, but the rushing water won't let him stay by her side for long. He fights to remain beside her, at least to touch her beautiful face once more.
Their lips meet and passion explodes between them. Kisses filled with salt and tears give him a rush of strength. But she has given up, accepting the looming darkness facing them. And he knows there is nothing more to be done.
Her breathing slows to match his, united, now and forever. Shallows gasps for air are all they can manage, their oxygen supply running out fast. Too fast, he thinks.
The end draws near, the water up to their lips now, putting a halt to their frenzied kissing. He holds her hand, not afraid as long as she is with him.
She wishes it didn't have to end this way, that her husband will never get to meet their daughter. Thinking about their little girl, growing up an orphan, takes what little breath she has left away. But she knows her friends won't let her daughter grow up alone, she has faith in them.
There is nothing she can do now but hope that someday her little girl knows how much she was loved.
She sees the sadness he is wearing like a blanket and knows he is thinking the same thing. She places her hand against his cheek, wishing she could wash away his sorrow. He strokes her hair, smiling gratefully. The smile lights up his face and soon she is smiling with him, chasing the grief away.
When their time finally runs out, the last painful breaths filling their lungs with water, they are together. Just like it is supposed to be.
I love you, he thinks as his vision begins to blur. She smiles at him, the best she can do while underwater.
Their fingers still entwined, rings glowing brightly in the darkness, the last thing he sees is her peaceful smile. She is ready to go and he is too.
All they ever need is each other. Side by side.
Forever.
R.I.P. Sun & Jin. You will be missed dearly.
