Author's Note: I don't own Blindspot. I barely own a dress. But anyway, I had this thought, wrote it in a few minutes. I didn't even intend for it to be a fanfic. It just happened. (Slight changes from tumblr if you already read it)

Jane waits too long to even start looking for a dress. She was so caught up in being engaged, the thought never even occurred to her. Feeling overwhelmed, she asks Patterson and Tasha to come shopping with her. Not only are they the two women she trusts more than anyone, she knows Patterson will be the one to always find something good, while Tasha will be honest enough with the flaws.

Jane can barely stand shopping to begin with, and wedding dress shopping is a whole new level of crazy. She wants to leave as soon as she walks in – too much fluff and tulle and fairy tale for her tastes, but Patterson drags her inside, insisting that she deserves to look gorgeous on her wedding day.

Jane is lightly fingering through the racks when the saleswoman approaches. Zapata is the only one to notice the shocked looked as the other woman takes note of Jane's tattoos. When she asks if they have any ideas to start with, Tasha is the first one to speak – "Short sleeves. It's a fall wedding." She instinctively stands closer to her friend, as if daring the other woman to say anything about the tattoos. Jane barely notices the exchange, overwhelmed by the process.

The next hour is a blur of dresses and talk, details and designs, compromises and jokes. Jane feels uncomfortable at first, but as she tries on more and more dresses, the friends fall into familiar patterns. Patterson swoons over every dress, touching the fabric, noticing the details and design features. Tasha is more critical, noticing what works and what doesn't, asking for new combinations or designs to try.

Jane pulls on a dress, twisting in front of the mirrors, noticing her reflection. That's when her back captures her eye. The Kurt Weller tattoo, peeking out above the lace. The one that brought them together, the tattoo that started it all.

In that moment, she knows it doesn't really matter what Tasha or Patterson say. This is the dress.
