She wriggled over to the mirror on the floor, left there just for this purpose.

They eat any and all types of books within their reach. This causes them to be hated by Wizards and Witches worldwide. The Magical Librarians Society for Book Lovers has campaigned since 1372, when it first formed, to eradicate the Magical BookWorm permanently. They claim that it is a menace to pleasant society and the learning that all books represent.
However, they have not yet succeeded, due to the fact that the small intestine of the Magical BookWorm has irreplaceable healing properties when boiled, prompting its use in many healing potions. Therefore, most are now raised in captivity.
The Mating Habits of the Magical BookWorm are strongly….

Credit for the idea of Hermione being a Magical BookWorm goes to twingeek (on this site). The rest is mine. J. K. Rowling, as far as I know, has never mention any sort of magical worm. She does mention kelpies in her book "Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.
