Inconsequential

I just got wondering about the fact about nobody hearts, If they don't have them why do they act like they do? I didn't really answer that question, but I think I gave a bit of insight on one possible side of it.

I guess you could call this a vent really, I'm actually writing another Kingdom Hearts story right now, but I really just wasn't in the right frame of mind.

So instead, this popped out in all it's angsty glory!

I'm going to say I wrote this for Nonsensical Smile because really, he is the only reason I wrote this, otherwise I just would have sat down and raged at my friends over the Internet.

I'm sorry this is so late and so short, I've got a few more stories in the works that should be out in a month or so to make it up to you!

PS. Please go easy on spelling/grammar mistakes as I wasn't in the best of moods whilst writing this, feel free to message me (NICELY!) if you see any errors.

And as he lay on the ash felt, rain pouring over his blood soaked figure, he couldn't help but think on his time as a Somebody. Laughter and joy, tears and betrayal, aspects of his life that were no longer part of his being. The memories of these emotions should have stung where his heart once rested, but since his second awakening, was no longer there. All he felt, all he ever felt since the vast and incomprehensible pain that was his heart being torn from his very soul, was emptiness.

Nothing… The feeling quite similar, as he remembered, to that of depression, the hollow ache inside ones chest, eating you from the inside out. Only, he felt no need to cry, rage or blame anyone else for his actions. He only lay there, thinking and contemplating his own existence.

Heavy footsteps alerted him to another presence, footsteps, normally deathly quiet, obviously exaggerated to warn him of the others approach. Plastering a pout onto his previous blank face he turned to face the approaching storm.

"Hey Xiggy..." He managed to cough out, "Looks like I aint so great at this as you thought!"

Frowning down at the figure below, said man crouched down to his level and gave a solid poke to hole blasted through the Nocturnes shoulder.

"Looks like you really did yourself a number little dude." He mumbled, pulling off his gloves as to keep from sullying them.

"Better get you to number four so he can patch you up."

Dramatically emphasising his petulant expression, Demyx sighed up towards Xigbar,

"But Vexy's mean, and always picking on me!"

Giving the water user a long look, Xigbar could only shake his head with a wry expression on his face, "Dem, how can Vexen be mean to you if he doesn't have any emotions?"

Fully pulling his adopted persona around himself now, Demyx smiled brilliantly up to his superior, "But we do have emotions, hearts too!"

Giving Demyx a slight look of disdain, knowing the kid felt just as empty inside as the rest of them, Xigbar merely opened a portal as he decided to play along.

"How can you be so sure we all have hearts little dude?"

Fixing Xigbar with a mock stern look, as he was lifted awkwardly into the others arms he muttered,

"I just do."

Months later, as Demyx felt his very essence being sucked away by the darkness, he couldn't help but give a wry grin, muttering to himself:

"Hearts? As if."

Review and I'll love you!... Maybe... Ok, probably not, but that's no reason not to review if you enjoyed it!
