"Sonic! Save me!" Amy yells, struggling against the clawed robot hand that held her hostage.
"Amy!" Sonic yells, trying futilely to break free from the small claw that latched to his foot.
Amy holds her arms out, wondering in the back of her mind, 'Why isn't he moving? Why isn't he saving me?'
Eggman chuckles as he moves away slowly, making sure to draw out his escape.
"Doctor Eggman, your plan was eggsecuted(1) perfectly. You have the perfect bait to rouse Amy's suspicions with."
"Perfect."
"Sonic will find me, you know." Amy says, certainty in her voice. "And he will make you regret kidnapping me." Eggman 'tsk's her, shaking his head while he stares at her grimly, his face shrouded in darkness.
"My dear, naïve, Amy. Don't you know that he could have caught up to us? He could have saved you before I ever managed to get away. He could have saved you before you were even caught. But he did not. That, my dear, says it all." He smiles cruelly at her, eyes flashing behind his glasses. "Sonic the Hedgehog, does not care about you, Amy."
Amy's green eyes flash with pain, and she blanks her expression out.
"But you know that, don't you, Amy?" His voice is teasing, soft as he slowly rips her warm security to shreds. "You know that Sonic would rather be with someone else. You know, he doesn't love you." Amy's wall cracks, and she bows her head, as tears fall from her pain-filled eyes. "You can talk to me about it, Amy. I'm here to listen. I'll treat you like the princess you are, I'll treat you like the daughter I never had."
A small shudder passes through Amy, before she begins speaking slowly, her voice soft. "I've tried everything I can. I've tried cooking my way into his heart. I've tried everything -" She sobs, a soft, wailing sound, full of pain, before continuing. "I made him things, I did everything I could, and it was never enough...I..." She trails off, her sentence left unspoken, before Eggman fills in the blanks for her.
"You were never enough."
Amy's heart shatters as he speaks the words aloud, and she closes her eyes as Dr. Eggman speaks slowly to her.
"Let me help you, Amy. Let me heal your pain." He runs his hand atop her head, gently brushing his fingers through her hair. "Allow me to save you. Mend your shattered heart. Allow me to make you partner to Shadow. You'll be strong enough to defeat anything and anyone who wishes to stand in your way. And when you're done conquering the world, Sonic will beg you to come to him, to which you'll spit on the very ground he grovels on, because he was never worth your time anyway, dear, sweet, Amy."
Amy's shoulders sag as she whispers softly, "Will I forget?"
Eggman's eyes flash in victory and he nods. "Of course. You will remember nothing of Sonic the Hedgehog."
Amy stares at the wall on the far side of the room, her voice distant as she whispers quietly, "I obey only Doctor Robotnik."
Eggman's smile intensifies, and he puts his hand on her head. "Yes, my dear. Now. It's time we got going." He walks to the door, looking back at her as she stands, almost robotically. She walks slowly, her lips pressed in a small frown, and he holds the door open for her.
"Sonic will never break you again, Amy Rose."
This is only the prologue. The future chapters will be longer (: I hope you like it.
