So it's a different series I came up with. It's sorta like my deleted scenes one if you read it only these aren't part of episodes is all. Still one-shots and still very big in friendship.
To sum it up I wanna take a certain line from an episode and do a what if that was actually true? Something like that. This is from Oh Honey when Barney tells Honey about his letter to his dad.
What if his dad responded and it wasn't very kindly?
"Barney?"
He glanced up from the booth but then quickly looked away. "Hey Ted, what's up bro?" he asked sadly. He went back to staring at his lonely beer on the table.
"You tell me bro…you're not suited up…is something wrong?" Ted replied.
"He replied to me Ted and now I wish I never tried to reach out" Barney replied. He took out a crumpled note from his pocket and threw it on the table like it was diseased.
Ted smoothed it out and read the short letter.
"What a jerk" he murmured.
"Yeah…maybe he's right though…I guess I am worthless" Barney muttered and Ted shook his head.
He slid next to him and stuck his arm around his friend. "I disagree bro" he said sincerely.
Barney blinked at him. "I mean it Barney…why don't we go suit up and kick some little kids butt in laser tag?" Ted asked.
"You're serious?" Barney asked and Ted nodded. "Yeah, your dad may not want you but I do, you're my brother Barney and I promise I won't abandon you again" he answered.
"Thanks" Barney said and jumped out of the booth. "You're right Mosby and that jerk is dead wrong…he's jealous of my awesomeness is what it is" he said.
Ted chuckled but nodded. "Damn straight…come on awesome bro…lets show off that awesomeness"
"Yeah….you know you weren't that cool when I met you Ted but now…you're the most awesome best friend I ever had" Barney said and Ted smiled.
"Glad I made the cut pal" he said and led Barney out. Outside he lit the letter on fire.
"Now you can just forget it, let him burn in hell like his letter" Ted said and Barney nodded.
He was glad he had Ted as his best friend. He knew Ted liked him better than Marshall too. He still hadn't admitted that but Barney knew.
They walked together and Barney smiled again. After all he could never be sad, he'd stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story.
