The Sunny Part of Sonny
He had seen her wear so many accesories, all bright and fun, but his favorite had to be one that she always had on. OneShot. Sonny/Chad.

Most girls - no matter how flashy, or gorgeous they were - flew under Chad Dylan Cooper's radar. But one girl found her way past all of that, and made it to the top of his radar. Beep, beep, beep. And because of that stupid little radar, whenever Sonny was around, all he could hear was beeping.
Might as well have called it a Sonny Radar now.
Every single time he was so fortunate as to have her around, he'd take a small peek at her. Not a "I'm-checking-you-out" look - that's gross, and Sonny probably would smack him with a bat if she ever caught him doing that. It was a "if-I'm-fast-enough-she-won't-see-me-looking" look.
He noticed, after a while, that she always had some kind of fashionable, outstanding outfit on. One outfit was never the same as the other. However, each spoke "Sonny" in their own way. They weren't flashy, but comfortable and cute. Even if each outfit differed from the other, one thing stayed the same.
Her smile.
It was gorgeous. It showed off all of her pearly-white teeth, and it reached her eyes. Sometimes there would be a laugh as well, but that was only if he was lucky. He loved to see her smile after rehearsing a show, or after one of their silly banters.
Oh, what he would do to see that smile twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Hugs, giggles, kisses, and hot cocoa. Secrets shared between the two of them, midnight phone calls, and silly texts. Everything he used to hate, everything he used to ignore, was suddenly all he thought about.
It seemed like a dream come true. That smile - his world - was all his. No one could take that away from him. Every time he'd see her - which he tried to make as much as possible - she'd be wearing it.
And soon, he had his own. A smile that he gave to her all the time. Most of the time, it was a smirk or a grin, showing that he felt good about himself. But this smile that he gave to her was different. It said he was in love, and that he liked it that way.
It said that he'd do anything to keep her smile from fading.

He broke it. He cracked it in half and threw it in the trashcan, without even knowing he had done so. Her heart, her smile, his everything - gone. All because of some stupid award he had gone overboard about.
Was it worth it? No.
Now everytime she saw you, there was this look of regret. Her eyes, once full of joy and sheer hope, were now full of hidden sadness.
Sometimes, he would sneak over to her set, using some made-up excuse to see her. I lost my glasses. I thought I heard someone scream for me. I think I left my keys here - mind if I check? But everytime he'd say something - even the silliest of things, just to attempt to make her giggle - she'd just sigh and let him go.
It was like he wasn't worth trying for anymore.
But he didn't care if she had given up. He was determined to keep going. He would do anything to keep that smiling from fading away.
Anything.
Even if it meant losing his own smile in the process.
A/N: This is my first SWaC oneshot. It's kind of short - my apologies. I had this idea a long time ago, but I never got around to writing it because I always feel awkward writing for Chad and Sonny, no matter how much I love them. I really hope they get back together soon.
Um, I don't know if there are any oneshots out there like this, because I am never on SWaC's archive. I only read a couple of fics by certain writers, but they'd already left. If there is, then that's a complete coincidence, I swear.
Thanks for reading, though! Please point out any mistakes! :) Thanks!
