Middle Earth Poem:
Rivers wide and flowing, water travels along seeking no time passage.
Green hills create a strong fort for the king's men, stretching on for miles.
Trees old as time can tell, they gather in groups forming their own story.
Great mountains are the Kings of the land; standing strong.
Oh how rich the lands of Middle Earth is.
Rich of life. Rich of darkness. Rich of mystery. Rich of lies.
Full of different creatures. Creatures which we do not see.
Creatures we hear in old tales and songs.
Hobbits are one of these creatures.
Yet small in size, but have skills which are not seen to others.
Nothing in appearance- they have great minds.
Sing, laugh, joke and tell tales- that is what they do in the Shire.
They prefer to sit and read, then step out of their lines.
Adventures they look down upon and whom they call; 'Disturber of the peace'.
Dwarfs are next. Creatures of land and not so taller than Hobbits.
But let that not fool you. Small in size but great with weapons.
They're bound by their own law and hatred, leaving them hard to win over.
Yet on the battlefield they will only choose one side.
From the great kingdoms we only know 12 of these creatures; all led by Thorin.
Elves are creatures of immortality.
Life seems like nothing until they seek its riches.
They are creatures of light feet and quick reflexes.
Hated by dwarfs;
But in another tale still to be told, their history with the dwarfs dispatch and form a truce;
By an unlikely duo.
Men, we know of these normal creatures.
They're part of our past, present and future.
They seem so tall to Hobbits and dwarfs but idiotic to Elves.
Greed and hunger led them through the lands- some not caring for what was foretold.
Wizards, now there is a lot to them, but having much power seeks them to secrecy.
Only a few wizards are alive. Five to be exact.
Saruman the great wizard among them, not someone to mess with.
Gandalf the grey or Disturber of the peace known to some.
Radagast the brown, prefers the company of animals.
Then there are two blue wizards, which I can't recall their names.
Goblins and orcs- scary things in Middle Earth.
They gather in great packs. They may look different, yet have the same thing in mind.
They let their hate rule and let their love die.
Many things they have done but nothing could add to how many lives they took.
Now like every culture's history, Middle Earth had seen its fair share of war.
Many had been carried out before. Many have been planned.
Many is in the near future, some of you already know about and know the consequences.
The truth beyond the lands marked by blood.
