As Machi sat on the counter pouring salt into salt shakers, all she could think about was her favourite place in the world, Paris. She was saving and saving money for a trip with her and her friends to go to Paris together after graduation.
"Hey, Machi order up. Table six." The cook said and she ran into the kitchen to grab a plate of food for the table. The bell on the door rang and Kyo walked into the diner where she, Tohru, and Arisa worked at. But right after him their horrible classmates came in and sat on table four.
"Hey Machi, do you want me to take that table?" Saki asked.
"No it's okay, I got it." She said and walked over to the table to take their order.
"Hey guys." She said the table of class mates and they just looked at her as if she just asked them something like, 'Do bees walk?'
"Um, we're still looking at the menu." One girl said and Machi nodded and walked away only to hear them laugh after she left.
"Hey Tohru," Kyo said and Tohru turned around and smiled at him.
"So what can I get you?"
"What you got?"
"Me!" She laughed and he kissed her.
"Oh hey Machi, are you okay?"
"Just two days and then Paris, just two days."
"Is she okay?" Kyo asked and Tohru sighed.
"She's just desperate to get out of here." Tohru said putting her tips into a 'Paris fund' jar with a picture of the Eiffel Tower on it.
The day of the graduation ceremony came the next day and Machi, Tohru, Arisa, Kyo and Manabe sat next to each other in the row on of many students who had just graduated. As they left the building they ran into their families who were taking photos and leaving for home. Kyo managed to say bye to Tohru and the other girls quickly before being taken away by the Sohma's.
"Congratulations Tohru, Machi." Machi mother said and hugged her daughter and Tohru.
"Hey Arisa." Kyoko said
"Oh thanks mom. Hi Saki." Machi said weakly.
"Hi." Saki was Machi's new step sister for a few months and they weren't getting on to well.
"Hi Arisa, Tohru." Saki said sharply and Arisa just nodded, yeah they weren't friends either.
When they arrived home they got some unhappy news.
"I don't want to go to Paris with my new sister and her sleazy friend." Saki said to her dad as she cleaned up the dishes after dinner where they found out the news.
"It will be fun, just you four girls Manabe and Kyo."
"Just us four, the three best friends and me with the two boys as well. Me alone with Arisa, Tohru and Machi, my new sister and brother with her classmate and the girl who was with me in high school last year who I hated."
"It's one week to make new friends and be with your new sister. You've been in every weekend since your mother died and hated the fact that I got re-married."
"I don't hate that, I just hate that everything is going so fast."
"It's a week." Saki's father said and hugged her.
