The clouds slink forward along a silent shore
Men lay in wait as they play the fates
Betting their cards against those who hold the ace
The fuses grow short and call for men
So duck and cover your precious head,
The cogs of war turn to a new tune as men line up to face their doom
Guns are cocked and ready to fight against the backdrop of a rainy sky
The planes roll by, black silhouettes against the evening sky
Lightning flashes and rattles the ground that whispers not a sound
The buildings rattle with fright as the day turns into night
The children cower in fear as the adults whisper assurances
It's okay I'm right here.
The thunder may roll and the lighting may boom but rest assured little one it will all stop soon!
So lay down your head and go to sleep, for one day you'll wake up and wish
it
had
all
been
a
dream
