Sorry if anyone expected a good story here, this is just a little something that was supposed to get me out of my writer's block.
Hope you'll enjoy this anyway, it's my first work for this fandom.
Still, I'm crying
You see how they try to fight him off, their futile attempts to at least cause a little bit of damage against an enemy that is far too advanced for them.
For any of you.
You hear their screams and you see them fall, one by one.
You know they're still alive, but for how much longer?
Then you fight.
You really try, but you can only dodge his attacks for so long and when the electric current hits your body, you hear your own scream echoing those of your friends.
It takes a moment for your mind to get clear again, but when it does, you hear her arguing with him, trying to get him to see the error in what he is doing, trying to appeal to the part in him that is still human.
His posture and his eyes tell you that she's in immediate danger and despite the strain it puts on you, you rush over to get her out of the way of the electric charge that would have been sure to kill her.
You hit the ground hard, trying to shield her from the impact and she's pleading with you to sop fighting, but you know you can't.
He's taunting you now and there's no doubt that he's going to kill you all, but you have to at least try to get him away from the others, maybe give them a chance.
You can feel the strain of the acceleration and you know you've reached your limit when you stand in front of him, your body shaking with the effort to just keep standing upright.
There is no scream as the current hits you this time, you just feel yourself falling, falling until your mind goes numb.
You awake to the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks all around you and find him standing over you, announcing your death.
You try to force yourself up, not willing to submit to defeat, no matter how certain it seems.
Something in his face changes , but you can't quite understand the words he mumbles through the veil of pain that has descended upon you.
In the blink on an eye, he is gone and you collapse back, you arms not able to support your weight anymore.
The last thing you feel is the rain pouring down on you.
The professor's here with me, reassuring me and himself that everything's going to be alright.
I believe him.
I know I can trust him.
Still, I'm crying.
