THREE LITTLE WORDS
"I need you . . ." were the words he remembered her saying and now he couldn't get them out of his head. Who could imagine that little three words would find him at 3am on a Friday morning wandering the floor of Metro, the biggest nightclub in the city, trying to find her?
With so many people packed in he couldn't risk speeding around the floor to track her down, he just knew that he was going to have to do this the old fashioned way.
As he walked across the floor searching he was interrupted, not for the first time, by an attractive woman who stared him up and down, grabbed his hand and said "lets dance".
He disliked these situations, as he never knew how to handle them. He could easily extract his hand but he had been brought up to have manners. "Sorry, I am looking for a friend of mine so I will have to decline," he replied with a smile.
"I have a friend over there, so if you find your friend then he can come dance with us," she replied with a flirty grin on her face.
"My friend is a girl" he replied with a slight shrug.
At those words the young woman just smiled at him, leant forward and kissed him on the cheek and said, "She is a lucky girl," and walked off leaving him bewildered and not for the first time thinking, how little he actually knew about women.
"I need you . . ." God he wished those words were not in his head like a personal mantra to his searching. "Need, what a stupid word," he thought to himself, "Need me to put out the garbage or need me to take off all your clothes and make love to you until your needs are fulfilled."
"Clark, I need you," he heard those words spoken again. This time it was a lot clearer and came from behind him. Turning quickly, he walked towards the bar, scanning faces looking for her.
Finally he spotted her, she was leaning up against the bar with empty shot glasses in front of her and from the look of it she was more than a little drunk. There was a group of guys surrounding her, all trying to gain her attention in some fashion. He just knew that this was going to end in tears for someone.
Angling around so that he could see her face, Clark was mystified as to why she would say those words, as this was a pretty common scene to find her after her last relationship breakup. Standing in her direct line of sight he waited for the drunk "moment".
Her eyes were drifting all over the place, as they did when she was drunk, and he watched as her eyes stopped on his chest and shot up to his face. Her glorious green eyes sharpened and the big smile that appeared on her face made her eyes sparkle. "Boys! My Clarkie's here," she said before pushing up off the bar and unsteadily walked towards him.
Clark watched her walk towards him and couldn't help but think "God she is so unbelievably sexy."
"Clark, I need you . . ." she started before she paused and continued ". . . to take me home, I feel so drunk."
He had thought that telling Lois about his powers would make his life easier, why did he suddenly get the feeling that life was just going to be a hell of a lot more difficult.
