Alright, so this is my fanfic Book V. It will, however, not at all be related to my Rise Of Extinction series (which so far contains The Extinct Ally and Countdown To Extinction) and Inheritance of the Slashers. However, it will see Eragon, Saphira, Glaedr, and all the rest of the characters (along with some new OC's) face up against a new threat to both Alagaësia and the rest of the world, along with possibly beyond even that. So, with no more being left to say, here is Awakening, Chapter 1!
Prologue: Sleep of the Ancient Beast
Beneath the massive, ancient granite temple, beneath the craggy, cobweb-ridden catacombs and the sealed corpses buried in them, he slept.
He had been doing so for at least 591,999 years now. Sleeping, waiting.
Waiting for the "Savior", the one who was to awaken him, to arrive, to read the magically-encoded scripture upon the rotting walls, so as to trigger the spell.
Once it was triggered, he would finally be awakened from his hibernation. He would come back to the world his people had once ruled with an iron fist.
A world which used to be ruled by the mighty Grey Folk.
He would lead his people back into riches, power, and glory, and the dreaded Ancient Language would be no more.
Once he reawakened, the Reclamation of the Grey Folk would begin.
And those hopeless other beings, including the barbaric dragons and sniveling humans, would be stripped of everything that made them ruling creatures.
It wouldn't be long until the Reclamation finally began.
Short, yes, but a good exposition, in my opinion. R&R, please, and I hope to do at least one chapter a week. Check out my other stories:
