A Letter to My Father
Dear Dad,
It's been awhile, 17 years to be exact. I'm 21 and finally on my own. Mom didn't want me to move out but if I was going to get anywhere in life I had to get out of the house. I don't know if you heard but I joined the military and am working in Central, so I guess I'm not really that far from home.
Shezka's still there and has been taking good care of me in records. She tells me all these stories about the two of you sharing this small office space. Even after all these years she's still trying to rewrite all the military records that were lost in the fire of the library's first branch. She always says 'I'm almost done. Just a few more and then they're all back.' Nut, I know, she's just saying that to keep herself sane. It's my job to take what she has gotten done, however, and organize it on the selves of the library in HQ.
General Mustang still comes and visits mom and I when he comes back to central for the Stats Alchemy Exams and other meetings. Mom always tries to offer him a place to stay but every time he refuses, and says the dorms are just fine for such a short trip. But I think it's because he feels he'd be betraying your memory. I've also seen him at the grave site with Riza, but only when it's raining. Riza always says "He wants to be seen as a leader." Meaning "He doesn't want anyone to see him cry."
Edward and Alphonse are doing well too. From what I've been hearing, Ed has gotten married to big sister Winry and they've started a family. I wonder what kind of parents they are? I bet they're great.
I guess that's all I have to say for now. I'll write you later, even though I know you'll never read these. I miss you Daddy. And I love you.
Love Your Little Girl
Elicia
