A/N: Just a little drabble of Tony's thoughts after his reaction to Kate's comment at the end of Season ones 'Split Decision'.
It hurt. He knew their friendship was built on sarcasm and taking shots at one another, but sometimes her comments went deeper than she knew. Deep down he knew that she didn't mean to hurt his feelings, but he had to wonder if that's what she really thought of him. He knew he came across as a player, but he was capable of having a meaningful relationship. He had before, but they never ended well and there was no way he was putting himself through that again. That's why he acted the way he did. They can't hurt you if they don't get to know the real you, but she had, because she couldn't see that it was an act.
Short and simple but please review if you have a minute :P
